My fathers just picked up his new car C class Merc AMG estate - 340BHP and got to say (not being a Merc lover) its pretty damn good - goes like a rocket (pulls at least as hard as my Scoob) an is obviously a damn site quieter.

First car I've been in since buying the Scoob that makes me a bit green with envy!

I've done quite a bit of testing in the CLK 55 AMG and have to agree.. the car is simply stunning, but..

whilst it is one of the most incredible on-road cars I've driven, it's limit handling is not in the same class as the scoob. With the ESP (can't think what it's actually called) switched off, the rear diff is so agressive that it makes it a complete nightmare to keep on the road.. with it switched on, the car is held way below the limit, so "on-the-limit" progress is hampered.

But on the road, I personally think there is little that can touch them in terms of sheer mile consuming poise, etc.
