The water in my STI7 waterspray bottle and pipes obviously in the winter when the car is not running will freeze and expand.
How do we prevent this as it may split the pipes or bottle.
Obviously the windcsreen water doesnt freeze as it usually contains a cleaning agent which can act as an antifreeze.

Any comments on this as I dont wont a leak,,well emptied mine anyway but what if you dont???

I use a drop of methanol on my Evo 6.The methanol evaporates and leaves no residue like screenwash. But it's got a FMIC. Not so sure it's a good idea on a top mount!!

So basically the answer is no one really knows the real answer.
I dont want to put anything in as it may ruin the intercooler?

I shall have to ring Subaru Technical, probably dont know either.

I thought you had answered your own question, screenwash.....
it does contain an antifreeze compound, I'm sure if its good enough for your windscreen/paintwork then it will be OK on an oily rusty intercooler
