I have heard a whisper that the launch price of the new STi 7 is going to be £30,495. I am not sure if this is the Prodrive model but all the same disappointing, especially as Autocar last month said it was likely to be substantially less than £30k.

Anyone else got any better info on this yet?

If thats the price I will buy an import.Even when you consider the extra insurance costs it still works out at, £24995, a much better deal...

I don't think £30,495 will work...look at the time it took to get rid of the P1's at that price

Whatever price the car is "officially" available at your can always knock a substantial chunk off by importing one via a specialist, cue age old arguement about warranty

The STi Vii I drove was a very nice piece of kit but had a small rev range where maximum acceleration was available, 4500-7500 rpm from memory. In 1st to 3rd this was almost unuseable unless you had lightening reflexes to change gear accordingly. However, in 4th, 5th and 6th it really did fly, along with handling and brakes to match

I'll be interested to see how they change the Japanese version to match British driving conditions...may even get my cheque book out

Wink

Don't you think they will leak the price to here and then follow the posts avidly to market test the car/price

IM/FHI market research must read this everyday - 'cos if they don't they will have their head up their **** as this is a superb forum to feedback on their product and distribution!

For my tuppence worth - £30,495 for a 260bhp car nowadays is a stupid price. The new Alfa 147 with stonking looks and 250bhp, the new Focus RS models will all blow it into the weeds and cost the thin end of £20 grand not over £30k.

Based on the recent Top Twenty Performance Car piece in Autocar. The new Focus was there as a prototype and posted awesome times for a 'front wheeler' with 200bhp - the chassis is clearly excellent.

It beat a lot of very high quality metal, including MY01 Scoob - by a long way. If I could be arsed I would dig it out and post the times - from memory it was up there with the Evo 7, possibly quicker!

a couple of months back me and my girlfriend were behind a debadged black focus on a twisty back road. it had pimp tint, big alloys etc. its also ,apparently 'had some work done'. dont know what, but thats the story i heard.anyway, this thing flew we had to work hard in the evo to keep up. my girlfriend is scarily quick on back roads, as my skidders will show , but even she was suprised by this thing. personally i think the rs focus will be an interesting prospect.

30k plus for a bug eye? u gotta be kidding and then what, more dosh to get some sort of ppp for it? seems someone at I.M. are taking the p155
what is it with I.M, why do they keep doing this? are they testing customers loyalty? or are they just really feckin stupid?
