There have been a few other threads discussing this today and the report in Autoexpress contradicts a lot of what was said in Autocar.

IMHO, the Autocar one is the more accurate one and that the engine/turbo etc. is basically the same on the STi 8 and that a few minor tweaks to the lower front bushes have been made, along with the obvious interior and styling changes.

Am having trouble confirming what the weight of the new car really is though.....anyone?

I have looked at both Autocar and autoexpress and peoples comments on the MY03 pricing.

on autoexpress's website news review of the JDM sti they say the UK price for a STI is £30,000 posters in this forum mention the MY03 wrx is going to be £20,000. that is a hell of a price difference between the 2 models. Anybody know the confirmed UK pricing, al the importers are saying the pice remains the same but that may not be the same for the UK.

reason I ask I have placed a oder with Garage Troch in belgium for a My03 WRX and being delivered to the UK, liscencing, VAT and alarm fitted it is coming in at circa £16500, just wandering how much money I am saving on initial purchase price.

p.s does anybody know if tesco insurance differentiates between Uk cars and UK spec parralel imports.

I know that at least some Importers are quoting around £23-24 for an EU Imported STi 8. This is because the EU dealers they import from have their prices from Fuji and therefore know what price they will supply them to the UK Import dealers.

Therefore, unless the EU dealers have suddenly lost the will to make money (), the pricing from Fuji for the STi 8 (Type UK) will be very similar to the STi 7 (Type UK).
