David Wallis Projects
#1
For those of you who don't know David Wallis, welcome back from Pluto, i hope the weather was nice
Take a while top catch up on the 50+ pages thread describing David's project building a DIY FMIC, with some tweaks, resulting in an initial 345HP !!!
Thread at: DIY FMIC David Wallis
Now that this project is 'done', this new thread is to get David some ideas for a new project.
The project should be Scooby related, and require custom work (bolt-on bits over 50-odd £ are a NO-NO)
Please be detailed if you have a suggestion. David will surely comment
Gentlemen, start your engines (i mean typing your ideas)

My suggestion:
What about one exhaust per cylinder bank... Oh and that would mean having two turbo's too... You can then use smaller ones (TD04?) so less lag... And Twin intercoolers (where have we seen that one?) etc etc... Should be first ever scooby to sport that...
In this case the Equal Length Manifolds would be very easy to make...

Hey if someone is handy with computer drawing thingies and knows a bit about engines, can that person perhaps draw my idea out so we can see what has to be modified?

Oh wow...twin engined wagon with water injection, charge coolers, 8 exhausts, (one per cylinder bank....) and...maybe Nitrous?
Or better still: do it with a legacy estate and REALLY scare some people!
BTW I didn't think the MAF could go after the turbo+charge cooler assembly becuase the air density is different, and it doesn't ACTUALLY measure air density? Or is that nonsense?

Steve: a cilinder bank is 2 cilinders each on an impreza, if i'm not mistaken
4 exhausts WWWOOO people will think it's an M3
I think the bonnet should be replaced with one from an impreza Sport, so no scoop, then tint the windows so people can't see inside
Or what about bolting an H6 in there, slap on twin turbo's and the lot... should be good for a few hundred HP

fit a prsche 911 flat 6 boxer engine in to a MY00 GT with twin turbos and twin exhausts one either side of the rear number plate.
and redesign the bonnet so it fits over the extra length.

twin engined is boring in a scoob..
Twin turbo.. nah cant be arsed... Asked mark aigin (r19ket) about this and was told boost control can be a nightmare, so stick to one big turbo.

David: one big turbo (IHI VF23, 22, 30 or 34) means ****loads of lag... There'll be no nothing till 4000RPM, then all hell breaks loose...
The new STi VIII turbo seems nice though
What about a supercharger instead? Those things make an incredible noise, and no lag
