Actually if the spoiler was in the up position then the fuel consumption would be even worse!
I think it is the fact I am only driving 32 miles a day, just using the low gears...

16.73 !!! wow.
My tach was on 170 last fill up, and it cost me £37, so if a litre is .80 then i used 46.2. I am sure if i calculated on what my tank can hold it would be in the 20's, but this is a true figure, and I am shocked !

Hmmm seems most peps aregetiing around 200 miles per tank.
It doesnt help my cause with 4x6 mile journeys a day
Maybe it would be cheaper to move house so I do 4 x 20 miles journeys everyday ?

OK, I don't drive the car that hard, yet I've got a really crap fuel economy, do you guys in the 20s drive like old men? or are you motorway drivers? If not, please let on to your secret for better fuel economy!

W@nk....you know who you are
Got 29mpg recently with mixed driving 60% motorway, 20% town, 20% b-road and the occassional dash of fun...quite good for an MY99 with full-decat and Tek3

Saxoboy,
Not being funny but that is pretty good for a MY99 are you sure you don't have a fuel starvation problem?
Dan4,
I have the earlier car (pre97) with the larger TD05 turbo..
So if I drive it cruising on the motorway below 3,000rpm and drive below 3,000rpm at all other times I get better MPG but it is boring and not very easy to do that for a complete tank..
Also I have tried leaving the boost at 0...
I think each car varies too..
But if I plant the foot the the MPG goes through the floor too..

JGM2,
Thanks for the info. I suppose short journeys don't help me much. Plus they are the usual commute to work and back so stop start in traffic. I'll have to wear light weight shoes to help me stop pushing the pedal too hard....
Oh s0d it, I didn't buy it for it's fuel economy. Now where's that petrol station

Jolly I was driving like a girl for about 3 days!!! I was looking good for monster mileage but the 20% in town screwed it up. I allowed myself about 15 seconds of full boost during the whole tank.
Yawn city!!!!
Of course, the tank I'm on now is looking closer to 20mpg to make up for it
