Before anyone comments
I have put a request in the insurance section re a quote
My company car insurance has gone up from £ 998.00 to £ 2422.72 excludes Mods - ind kit + b/box which they want an additional £ 606.00 for! (25% extra on-top of the premium)
No convictions, no claims other than an accident, not my fault, claimed 100% against the other party.
We where with NU, now with Cornhill - does anyone have any experience with company car policies other insurance companies that they reccommend?
The other vehicles on the 'fleet' have gone up by 100% - Volvo C70GT, Galaxy TDI, Renault Espace, Renault Senic and an Astra SRI 1.8.
Whats going on?

Firstly, I would imagine Cornhill are trying to recoup a minor drop in their huge profits by hammering motorists. Either that, or they want to get out of this market sector altogether. Take your business elsewhere. I know all premiums are threatened to increase, but not by that much!
Secondly, I gather from your profile you are probably deemed a huge risk by insurance companies (the "you might have someone famous in your car when you have an accident" crap). You should describe yourself as a plain old run-o-the mill Company Director.

Funnily enough I renenwed my insurance about an hour ago and managed to save myself £255 over last years price. Last years insurer (independent broker with AXA) couldn't even get close and advised me to stop wasting my time and accept the quote!
Finally went with Hastings Direct who were £170 less than everybody else.
Me 28 years old, 7 years NCB, MY00 Standard UK Impreza Turbo, Clean licence, parked on a drive, Surrey postcode = £615.03 (With a voluntary £525 XS, lady on the phone seemed very surprised that I was willing to have that big an XS)
Next best (although I lost interest once I got the Hastings Direct Quote) was AXA Direct at £788 with a £475 XS
I was dreading the insurance quote this year and had convinced myself that if it was over a grand I would be soon getting rid of the car. While I was bored waiting for my girlfriend to do some shopping last week I popped into an independent broker who although managed a best quote of £930 interested me far more with their worst quote of £10,500
Edited to say :

Hi Paul
My company insurance is with Royal Sun Alliance. It went up this year from £780 to £1100 with tax etc. That is any driver fully comp over 25. Car is STi IV 98 and I have full no claims and protected with law cover
Hope this helps

We've just had our renewal through from Adrian Flux, and to our surprise, it had only increased by £14 compared to last year!
(95 WRX, in wife's name, me as main driver, mods declared)
They took a bit of chasing to get the renewal quote on time though, but you can't argue with £694, especially when Tesco wanted over £1300!! (Who said tesco were good for insuring greys?? )
