Did a search for this topic, because I know it has been asked before. But can't find a result.

Would like to know what my oil pressure should be when the engine is warmed up and at idle. I think mine is down a bit....

Depends on the oil you are using, with a good 15w-50 you should see around 3 bar.

Using Shell helix probably 1.75-2 bar.

Driving should be 6 bar above 2500 rpm. (if its higher no problem). With the thinner oil it may show only 5.5 bar

All above assume that you have been driving for 5 miles minimum.

Thanks Gents.

Yes I had been driving for a bit before I clocked this.

Used to show about 2.8 (converted from PSI) at idle and about 5.5 at higher revs.

Now showing about 2.4 at idle....

Oil has done 3500 miles and is due for a change anyway (Subaru dealership stuff...forget exactly what it was now). I am going to go for some of the Millers stuff I reckon.

Not got an obvious leak, but will check levels in the morning in case I am leaking & burning some off when the engine is under pressure!!!

Thanks once again.....H.
