Emission testing in West Yorkshire

Err, this sort of thing can be a bit of a worry.
As above, if you are fully de-cat you will fail, and even having one cat in doesn't give a garuantee of passing. However, there is a way out - you have the legal right to defer the test (in theory it is there for use if your engine is known to be unwell, or just plain cold etc) provided you take it to an MOT approved testing station within 14 days and get it tested. If you take this option, you pay for the test, but you have time to refit the catalyst that you removed "for inspection".

So Duncan, if I get pulled over I can say NO to the testing ? Or do I let them carry on and say the engine is cold, the police will then accept this and issue something to ask for a test to be done.
