Not only do we get Optimax ,with the benefits of 98.6 (ish) RON, more power to us 'greys' and better consumption but today when paying for my 3rd load of the golden nectar I got a snazzy Optimax keyring!!!!!!!
My 57i is in the post, I feel some tinkering is due and an ECU reset this weekend .....can't wait

81.9p in Bishop's Stortford (79.9 in Marks Tey, but it's a bit out-of-the-way).
Try the ISpy Petrol website but not until the virus has been removed from it
[Edited to remove link to virus-infected site -- a pity, it's a very useful site...]

Hi,
As Optimax is a low sulphur petrol I presume that Shell is making 2p/l more than on SUL by selling at or above SUL prices and pocketing the 2p duty reduction!.
Cheers,
Alex

I go as far east as Ware/Broxbourne unfortunately. I'll move house instead

79.9p in Croxley, near Watford. It might help that there are several garages near to it.
They aren't handing out keyrings though. Maybe that is another factor in the pricing!

Hmm..do sometimes wonder about the training offered to staff dealing the Great British Public.
Having just spied Optimax for the first time in Bishop's Stortford, I asked the attendant whether he'd had an first hand experience of the stuff. Oh yes says he, pointing to a beaten to f*ck Nissan parked outside the shop, gave my car 'massively' improved performance!
Not wishing to be too cynical I didn't bother to point out that a tankful of Optimax would've doubled the value of said vehicle rather than boosting it's performance.
Clearly read my mind 'cos I've not got a keyring.
I also notice that the standard issue Optimax leaflet studiously avoids quoting a RON-rating for the fuel.

No keyring, but hey 79.9p a litre, its a £200 net a year pay rise. Inflation busting or what!!
I thought the 98.6 RON caper was an average as opposed to a minimum.
Yeah the red marketing polo shirts are cool. Especially on the tidy boiler where I went last.

****, if I'd have read this yesterday I would have filled up last night when I was there!
Steve.

79.9p in Nottingham, but not the most accesible of stations (on the London Road roundabout - watch thr traffic lights as you come out of the station, you can't see if they're on red). No keyrings either. Had three tankfulls so far, and have noticed that the car is running smoother. Haven't yet had the opportunity to test the performance to the full, but it felt lively enough going down the M1.

BK same here.
Misses rang in a panic this morning "Low fuel n the Shell stations stopped selling SUL!!. They tried to sell me some Optimax stuff, what should I do?"
Will only run SUL and never believes a sales pitch...well trained or what
Told her to fill up and get a keyring, attendant didn't know anything about the em.
Quick northern chorus of Who Stole all the Keyrings anyone

Respec' to Shirl!!
Blimey how do you get her to put petrol in her own car?
Yes typical Southern bias yet again. You'd know all the ring pieces would be down there!
