Thinking of attending in my current car (vecy Sri) but i dont think the contract hire people would be very happy with me!! do you?

If it goes ahead i may come as a spectator.

Cheers Si

Hi All

We need about another 10 cars for this to go ahead. If you are thinking of coming along, please book now as we'll make a decision on monday and may have to cancel if there are not enough people.

It would be a real shame as it will be a cracking day.

There is far less strain on your car than you would have at a track day (in-fact probably less than you would have on the road), although it will get muddy!!

We have THREE group N subaru's coming, a few FWD cars, and a couple of top british championship drivers. There is also a good chance that EVO will be there so you might get famous at the same time!

Don't worry if you are concerned about the driving, it will be a complete giggle, the competition side is not the focus. It's the fun and safety which will be the prime focus.

Hi Bob

There is no charge for attending as a speccie, but there is a charge for BBQ (which we make no money on at all) which you will need to book in advance so they know how many to cook for.

There may be a charge for parking on the day but it will be small.

Cheers

Come on people its going to be a LOT of fun and will be a real shame if it has to be cancelled ! Simon has put a lot of time and effort into getting this going !!!

Its going to be on a fairly smooth grass surface, and will be slow, its not a drag race, its more a control thing ! Im having a go and i will be the slowest there LOL

Simon,

What's the last date for booking a ticket for the BBQ? Being somewhat selfish, I don't want to pay for a ticket this weekend to find the event is cancelled on Monday.

I would drive but I want to keep my warranty.

Chris

Any tickets you pay for now would be instantly refunded if the event was cancelled.

Simon

Just got back from holiday tonight, hence the late enquiry. What is the position regarding insurance cover for the event? Is it included in the entrance fee? Will I need a helmet and if so will I be able to borrow one?

Not sure on the insurance Q, but a helmet is required.

I'm sure somebody will lend you one - I've got a bucket sized one if that's any use. Charlie Whiskey is also borrowing it.

Hi Lemmy

Insurance is not included.. but..

We are working closely with Competition Car Insurance.. in-fact richard egger is helping to design the course to make it safe, so it will be available.. I'm hoping to get some prices over the next couple of days.

Cheers

Question

Simon

What's happening with this? Did you get enough people booked?

I really hope it goes ahead 'cos I'm looking forward to it

Thumbs up

Just bringing this back to the top as I've been looking forward to this for a while, and would hate for it to be called off.

SDB, if you are a couple of people short, have you considered giving the rest of us the option of paying an extra £5 to cover the costs?

Question

The silence is deafening

Just to keep this at the top until someone finally decides...

Anyone else want to sway the decision

Hi All

Deepest apologies for not getting news to your sooner.

I've just got off the phone with Whilton Mill..

we *can* go ahead from a financial point of view now as they have reduced their price to cope with the reduced numbers...

But..

We have another problem now which is one we anticipated all along.. the weather.

The forcast is very unsettled for the next few days which means that the ground will be very soft (even if it isn't actually raining on the day) and we'll turn the field into a bog within the first 5 runs.

Although I hate to say it, after all this effort, it's looking like we are going to have to call it off anyway

thoughts?

Yep the weather does look a bit cr@p.

I'd hate to lose the day but if only the first few cars get a good run then it may not be worth it.

When is decision day?
