Help!
My WRX had some really nasty wind deflector strips that were stuck to the car using a nasty adhesive. I've removed the strips but am having a nightmare getting the adhesive off. Heating it doesn't work, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use to remove it? It almost looks like draught excluder. Picture of the deflector is below

Petrol, White Sprit...

Usual disclaimers apply.

I've tried brake cleaner.
It worked wonders on the stickers on the boot, but this stuff is stuck like poo to a blanket.
it took half an hour to remove a 10 cm section and I've got 2 sides of the car to do.

I take it by usual disclamers you mean it'll take the paint as well?

Cool

chockeymonster....use IPA. Isopropanal alcohol. If you dont have this get some Evo Stick glue remover. Apply as directed on the can and do it in fresh air as it is quite noxious. It will easily remove the adhesive. After you are done apply your usual car care product. And yes it is quite safe to use on paint. If you need some IPA give me a shout and I'll, happily send you 250ml. Just soak the affected bits and wipe off using some pressure.

I agree, IPA is the best stuff to use and you can buy it from most chemist shops.

I take it Isopropanol Alcohol is the same as Isopropyl Alcohol?
Doubt I'll find somewhere in central london that sells it

yes it is. iso propyl alcohol is the old name for it.
i take it you have tried a sticker remover which you can get from halfords.
if not try any chemists for the ipa. curiously its used in food preparation to carry colours so you may find it in a specialist food shops e.g. wotsits and barretts.
