Question

Hi guys, am new to the forum and was after some of the extensive knowledge you have stored in your brains!! Am looking at buying either a UK 2000 turbo, circa 1994, or an imported WRX c.1996. I was wondering if you can give me any advice on what to look for, so that I don't end up with a real stinker after I part with my hard-earned cash!!

Try reading the SIDC FAQ first, which can be found on:

Cool

Hi and welcome,
My honest opinion, don't buy an import, try and buy a uk car with warranty from a dealer, I have a 98 model and love it too bits, also try and find one not modded to much.
Cheers
Colin

find a looked after one,one that has been loved you will know as soon as you see it. there is nothing wrong with imports as long as it has been done properly. imports are a lot quicker to. avoid traders and tatty old ones that have just come into the country. dont touch an import thats been run on regular unleaded either.

I bought an import from Mellow Yellow (aka Chris King from scoobyscene) and i love it. Costs a bit more on insurance but has a bit more power and a few more comforts (climate control etc) and it came with a three inch file of history!!!

Don't want to sound like an ad for him but he has cars for sale all the time and he knows his stuff.

He's well known on this forum and runs track events for SIDC, so give him a call.

Wink

I don't want to put his number on the web but look at his website it on there. www.scoobyscene.co.uk

There's no scoobys on his site at the moment but that does'nt mean he ain't got any!

Happy shopping
