Well the most obvious difference is that is has got 2 doors which is the main reason I was attracted to one. Then I also found out that it has an Sti engine and other Sti bits like suspension, brakes etc. The engine also has some upgraded internals and also chucks out 276bhp as standard. It is also lighter than a WRX. It doesn't have ABS but it does have the trick adjustable centre diff which is great once you know how to use it.

I am sure some of the more technically minded will be able to give some more detailed info but IMO after the 22B and alongside the Type RA it has to rate as one of the ultimate classic Scoobs.

If you have to ask......

Seriously though, no Subaru is that economical but the Type R's are worse probably not helped buy the fact that they have a close ratio gearbox. Normal drivng gets me around 23-26mpg but if I use a bit of right foot this figure goes south. Oh and you also need to use Optimax or SUL and octane booster.

If you have to ask.... lol

I was just interested in how different they were. I think they look a lot better in 3 door though. Shame they didnt make a normal wrx in 3 door. Might have to plump for the 22b then (i wish)

they did make a normal wrx in three door, its caled the wrx type r.

it has abs and the normal gearbox and centre diff.

is essentially a P1 without a 8k redline and with normal instead of sti pistons.

I also think they look a lot better in coupe form which is why I waited a bit and saved up for the type r. You can indeed get a WRX in a 2 door as mentioned by Adam M. Doesn't have the Sti bits so won't be as quick out the box but you can always mod it.
