What fantastic roads and scenery. Unfortunately, we didn't take the Scooby as it was a camping holiday, hence a campervan.

Our route from England:
Friday - *** to Llandudno (don't bother, no camp sites)
Saturday - A470 through Betws-y-coed, west onto A5, onto A4086, A498 then A4085 to Waunfawr.
Sunday - Up A4085 to Caenarfon, down A4086 to Snowdon Mountain Railway, onto A498 down to Porthmadog.
Monday - A487 onto A496-south to Barmouth.
Tuesday - A496 to A470, onto A4212 to Bala. Then roads begin to get busy, boring, potholes etc (YOU KNOW WHEN YOU'RE HEADING BACK INTO ENGLAND!!)

Next time I'm taking the car.

Anyone else been on these roads or others nearby?

Be careful up there. The local constabulary love speed cameras. To be fair there are a few deaths every summer on those roads.

Wasn't it somewhere near Betws-y-coed where a certain evo contibutor (and evo driver!) was arrested and banned for reckless driving?

They also have regular Transport Dept Roadblocks to check for legality of exhausts, number plates and visors, but only if you're on 2 wheels.
