All,

Went to Powerstation today and tried the rollers out. Trouble was I only had 208.5 Bhp and 208 lbs-ft, and was expecting a little more

Nope, I've got 204.5 bhp, and Floyd has even less I too was told mine was running rich (MY00 std, on SUL) but neither of the dealers I tried could find anything amiss Guess I'll just have to wait until I can afford the PPP

Robertio,

Not another example of they all do that!!!!

Thinking of another ECU and a remap to sort it out Only trouble the cars 6 months old and has a warrenty.

Hasn't helped me getting the clutch replaced though.

Surprised to say the least. A UK300 with a Pro-drive pack got 245 BHP (not the published 260 BHP). I thought the japs under quoted these figures not made them up!!

CO %vol was up at 10. Not sure what that means...

What did they say to you when they done it, guys at Powerstation were surprised as well.

What boost did you have?
Had a car at PE the other day that only had 211 bhp found the car was only boosting to 8 psi. Straightened a kinked hose and got 240 odds at 16 psi. I notice most tuners no longer connect the boost line.

Not quiet as rich as mine, I managed 12% for the CO.
I had my boost checked, it was fine, 14.5psi (I think)

I reported my car as being down on power a few months after I got it, but it is not much down, so makes it difficult to diagnose, I belive, and it just stayed that way. My guess, with no proof to back this up, is that the map may have been changed on MY00 cars, which has meant they run very rich, hence down on power.

Not all MY00s are down on power, as some have managed reasonable figures, but I know of a few which are around our range. I'm outwith my warranty now, so have given up on Subaru finding a cure.

Will have to run the car on the rollers again at some point as I have been running it on octane booster as well as SUL since last winter, a lot smoother (on most brands of booster) with better economy (I at least have a chance of making it into the 20mpg range), but does not feel any quicker

My boast gauge says 1.1 dropping to 1.0 bar, which I'm told is about 16 PSi (should have got a bloody PSi one).

I wondering if the boast gauge pipe was leaking ?

Don't know if they connected the boast line, but they copied or checked something as they were remapping a P1. They had like an oscilloscope that they used to check something. The correct setting was 50 or 5 ???

Cheers all, I let you know what I find out. Me off to Tileys with my Powerstation plot

Thought the UK300 with PPP fitted had 240 BHP? Isn't it the European STI7 that's rumored to have 260BHP?

HI all,

I'm not in the UK and do not have first hand experience, but from other posts I've read, it appears that Powerstations' rolling road is a hard marker, just like some school teachers were. I'd also go to Power Engineerings dyno, to make sure the car was OK. I bet you get a higher figure at PE.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

It was my UK300 that was run. Babbers car does seem to be in line with other UK cars run on there. So I dont really think its down on power.

My UK300 got 238bhp and 228lbft at PS
at PE is got 244bhp (as per spec) and 238lbft, still 22lbft short. However comparing it with other PPP cars run at PE and PE. In fact its almost identical to my old RB5.

Babber need a visit to Woking. We can then see PE and run on there as well. Sure you need to get some paperwork signed off

Babber,

I've got a UK MY99, and I've just done a couple of cheap mods and have really noticed the difference...

1. Bladerunner's Intercooler Splitter (£25)
2. K&N57i Induction Kit (£80)
3. Shell Optimax petrol (£0.89 /Litre)

Cars done 29,000 miles. So that may have something to do with it as well.

Edited to say that the car is fitted with a Scoobysport backbox too.

babber,

I too have a MY00 turbo.I have been fortunate enough to drive many UK cars and have always felt mine to be gutless .I have only put it on a rolling road once to get a comparison with other scoobys (same day etc) and all the MY00 bar one did seem lower than the earlier cars.with a decat downpipe and Magnex b/b I got 218bhp.I have recently added a c/s,k+n panel and a few more miles and things are getting better all the time.the car runs standard boost, same as Robertio, but I am thinking of fitting an electronic boost controller to smooth out the boost throughout the revs,I do not know what your boost is like but my "held" boost is not as smooth as I would like.

I think the later engines may take longer to loosen off,I do track days and feel that this has helped and also let me see the improvements as friends cars that could out drag me on the straights are not getting it so easy now .

Chins,

Sorry thought PPP was supposed to give 260 BHP on the UK300.

PE, yes maybe I need to go there and check it out. Not being funny though, but shouldn't they all be calibrated ?? And reading the same ?? Chins you understand the need for a national benchmark that can be calibrated too

Got your pictures, but some are a little dark. Same as mine!! You could have cleaned your car boss

Cheers to you

T-uk,

Shame the brochure claims 218 BHP, I mean I'm well chuffed with the performance. I have done 18.5k so far(got her in jan01), so it think it has well worn in.

I have a friend that works on Rich B&^"s car, so maybe they need to take a look

Sideways has a MY97 Wagon and they are so matched for acceleration and speed.

What's a c/s ?

Im thinking of totally re-installing Windowns 98SE onto the car, and letting the plug and pray do it funky stuff. Sorry Rsquire

Hi babber! just wondered what sort of mileage your scoob has done? i have a my00 and its done 25000 miles now, i did all the right things when running in and took it steady for 2000 miles. wen i first started giving it sum it did feel tight and kinda sluggish compared to others i had driven, once it hit 20000 miles it just got better and better, ive got magnex b/b and k/n on mine and it flys, never had it on the rollers mind but it does give you a good shove in the back and it tops out at 150mph at just over 6000rpm in 5th, on the clock mind you, so its fast enough for me. just sounds like it needs more miles and im juust assuming it hasnt done loads. hang in there with it! cheers Lee
