Question

Why is a terzo called a terzo? I was talking to my sister last night and she is a scooby nut but didn't even know they existed . She then asked me why they are called that but I don't know. Does anyone know?

Thanks
Paul

Terzo is Italian for third, and the Terzo was released to celerbrate the third consecutive win of the manufacturers title.

Thumbs up

Ian

Aha that explains it. What are the differences to the standard car?

Thanks

Extract from SIDC FAQ:-

Terzo
1997 saw Subaru win the WRC manufacturers title for a third time in succession. Even before the official announcement to the UK Subaru dealers, rumours were circulating over the inevitable release of a third special edition, with the possible specification suggested being very close to the final car. Available from April 1998 onwards, at an on the road price of £22,995, a total of 333 "Terzo" special editions have been produced (numbered 1 to 334, omitting 13). Terzo is Italian for third. This is to celebrate the third WRC championship victory in a row, and hence the third special edition. Specification for the Terzo is as follows:

*Special mica blue paintwork (similar but not identical to the current WRC cars)
*Current style 16 inch alloys, but painted gold
*Air conditioning
*Alacantra + suede effect interior trim (Same front seats as fitted to recent STi models, but without embroidered STi logo, and red shoulder flashes)
*Interior number Terzo plaque
*Cobra 6422 Thatcham Category 1 alarm with remote central locking
*Side and rear Terzo decals
*Special Terzo floor mats
*Non folding rear seat

Ian

Sounds nice I remember seeing one years ago around the bisham area on my home from work in the mornings. I have liked them since then but didn't know much about them. Are there any pictures about? Is the non folding rear seat for ridgidity? (sp)

Thanks for your help and info

Wurzel - good question. The RB5 is the same and it is a pain in the @rse (especially in B&Q car park when you have just bought 2.4 metrs of skirting board which used to fit just fine into the old MY99!!!)
The RB5, and presumably the Terzo aswell, use the STI shell, specially shipped over from Japan. The only reason I can think is that the shells are shipped unpainted (both special editions are in non-UK colours) and the cars are assembled over here. No idea if this is the case though.

Cool

Can someone explain to me what the point of a non folding rear seat is because I can't work it out and don't try to bluff it by saying it stiffens up the body shell.

Cheers
