One driver, who did not want to be named, said: "I've halved my motoring costs since I started running my diesel Subaru on cooking oil. The car runs just as well and even smells a lot better than diesel."
So come on then who was it Trying to pay for the petrol for the turbo then???

First I heard Subaru even make a diesel????
A mate ran his pug309 diesel on Pura Veggie oil from Tescos at 36p/l
It drove as normal, albeit with a distinct aroma from the exhaust. Something to note however is that some injector pumps wont tolerate for long, as he found out. The Lucas pump on his car siezed after a couple of months, breaking the timing belt. The car was a crapper anyway, so it didnt really matter. Apparently the bosch pumps work fine though. It is also recommended to heat the oil somehow, to thin it down, which would be even more important in winter. The Pura he used was only available at Tescos here, in 1 ltr bottles, so he did look a bit daft buying 40 bottles and clearing the shelves. The veggie oil should also be branded specifcally for human consumption, as there is some legal issue about duty, if the oil can have other uses.
Food products cannot be liable for duty. Products with other uses, may be.
