Funnily enuff, I said this to wifey only last week or so. She agreed, saying "it does seem a bit silly, what with all the useless stuff they do put on them?"
Surprised, (my Scoob is not what you might call "well equipped"), I asked what useless stuff she meant.
Her response? "That massive spoiler!"

Question

...why do saloon cars not have a rear wiper ?

Surely its easier than a hatchback cos its a fixed place ?

Question

Totally agree...

How silly !! Obviously most car manufacturers feel that the rear screen is too steep for rain water to stick to it. They didn't seem to realise that many people have a sloping driveway on which they park their car.

Of course, it always steams up in winter too...

I had an old Ford Orion that had one, as well as a heated screen too.. they were great when the electrics decided to work....

Is it too late for Subaru to fit them to the MY03 ??

John

p.s. All the Scooby wagon owners will be laughing..

As a former wagon and now STi7 owner I still long to flick a little switch and be able to see where I'm reversing in the morning, fortunately STi7 has heated mirrors which clears themselves of water in seconds it seems so I end up using them to reverse out of my drive.

mine is one of the few imports that doesnt have one, RA's had the wiper deleted to save weight, plus the glass is thinner too. Not sure what the excuse for the UK cars is? probably cost (must squeeze more profit out of treasure island)

Fun this,

I was thinking of exactly the same thing this morning whilst driving to work. Subaru leave that really quite usless IC Water spray on the Sti7, but remove the wiper??? why??
