Piccies of the race taken by an excitable teen(machine), so big thanks to Laura (I owe you a pint.....of coke that is)
And there off.......
Michelle, holding everyone up as usual
Blimey, that was quick, time to get off......
In the car park.......
Dreamweavers tank!!!!!!!aka "The **** Intruder"(the car I mean)
The best looking driver of the night
Neils tin box( you can tell he's a P1 driver)
CRAFT
BTW, I have video footage of the race, but I'm to thick to put it up here, so if someone near Manchester(Felstead?) can pick up the tape, could put it up on here for fellow scoobynutters to view it would be great

Excelent pics
Our kid has also got some video footage of the night but likewise, I'm a thicket and can't get it on here, will try blag the camera and at least get some stills up...... should be able to get some of me spinning chelle off should also be able to show the metro taking a pounding
Shameless plug
I'd like to just mention a couple of names....
Big thanks to James of Smith and Rhodes haulage, 01535 633636 for the loan of their Discovery and also to Steve Greenwood of Lateral Design, suspension specialist 01535 662244 for the loan of his trailer, without these two generous chaps there would of been 3 less cars racing, thank you both very much
Also, thank you to everyone who sponsored me and many thanks to everybody who pitched in, got covered in crap, soaked by rain and cut to shreads on broken glass to get the cars ready on time
Cheers, Bob, mkI Fiesta pilot

For me and John it was great - we had RWD'ers Sideways action all the way, though I did have a rather hilarious fishtailing moment (I think thanks to Neil in his Metro, before I put him in the fence - ooops )
Really great night, and superb pics G, though the one of me makes me look like a tank, not the car. Think it's the t-shirt though Cheap Asda George stuff

allright, which of you buggers took the rear shocks off my shed?
I was reliably informed by a specie tonight that it had no rear damping at all. LOL
Then again, being a Carlton thats probably about right!
I ordered the official tape, should have that on saturday, i'll try get that up on the net. Gladly put some other footage up too although i will have to ask someone for webspace to host it. Any offers?

Sounds like awesome fun. I wish I had been there.
Michelle,
Maybe you should come and have a go at Cowdenbeath in Scotland(not far from Knockhill) next and do it again. I would love to join in. We could have a Scottish event.
Well done everyone
Graham

Nice pictures Heather and Graham, and thanks for the still that you sent to me in work.
For all readers/attendees,
Just in case you didn't know this, but Banshi DIDN'T race a car on the night.
They had all been taken.
When he told me to use the second car that I had trailored down, a red Fiesta, arriving at 7:45pm, I assumed he was in one of the other cars.
He also sorted a harness for it, out of the P1's on the car park, (sorry don't remeber your name, but thanks).
I don't think there are many people who would go to so much trouble and WORRY, and then not actually take part in the main event, but allow others to race in his place.
You are a gentleman Barry.
Cheers MTR

agree with you Martin. I dont think anyone knew Barry wasnt driving until afterwards, the pits area was rather chaotic!
I think the last time health and safety was there must have been pre war! Motorsport at its rawest, brilliant stuff. Now where can i find an MR2 to go trash, that thing was amazing!

Well said Martin. For the next one, Barry and Shirley should sit back and relax, and we will arrange everything this time, giving car No 1 to Barry. I defo think we should do it again, but change the emphasis so that responsibility for cars etc is on the individual, and not just one man/couple (i.e. Barry/Shirley).
So whos up for the 27th October then

what has happened to the cars Simon, most of them would run again no problem. I know i could get my fog machine back to life without much problem, think it just split the dissy cap when i *cough* helped someone to make a corner .
And i agree, next time we should commit to our cars rather than put such a lot of presure on one person, i am amazed how Barry pulled this off with all the letdowns and unfulfilled promises.
One of the best comments of the night came from the event scrutineer, who was amazed at how fast (i think he meant nuts) we all were having not done this before. They expected us to tootle round, what they got was a load of nutters with red mist. To be invited back to have another go was a good end to the nights racing.
I really fancy a go in the demolition derby, that was bonkers, i recon i could make the car capable of winning that (cue first corner writeoff) . I wonder if they allow rally tyres

John - It was a bit of a Joke for Rob to use the MR2, turned out to be an excellent choice, allthough.. The scrutineers didn't look at it too closely .. We never thought he'd do so well, he was going to use a sierra.. Capri's seem to be a weapon of choice .. a few of our lads did well in em.
Here's some pics of Rob's said MR2.
Before
After
.... and he drove it off the circuit
Looks like I'm going to have a go in the Robin Reliants soon.
Just need to get a towbar, and the rest is nearly sorted

John - not sure where the cars have gone now - I did here Barry chatting to some of the normal loons, not sure if they were after buying them or something
Fairly sure Neil's Metro will be scrapped though after I gave him that little nudge
