WRX STi Prodrive Performance Package

I asked Mike wood that same question today too.
His response was(my paraphrase)...
Maybe
It depends, if you drive the car as you do now, then MPG will probably increase because less revs are being used per gear, of course if you redline it every gear then it'll go down.
Also like when the Std WRX PPP was first out the main bottleneck for installation will be waiting for dealers to send the standard ECU's back. So don't moan at PD/IM ask your dealer nicely to make sure they send their ECU's back ASAP.

Mossman
I think your refering to the other PPP
Prodrive Perving pack
Back on topic.
Does the PPP make the car a lot louder, or is it only a little bit louder?

DOWN PIPE??
Does this mean that there is a less restricted (I see it still has a cat) downpipe available for the Scoob engine that doesn't affect the warranty?
CAN / WILL THIS BE INCORPORATED INTO A STANDARD WRX PPP??
I think we should be told!!
(Though a standard WRX pushing out 260bhp would presumably confuse the non-PPP STI market a bit...)
BJH
Edit - Oh bum, DBT just asked elsewhere...

Cheers Simon
So, how many clutches were needed to get these repeatable times
?
I can just see the disclaimer at the bottom of the page
'No clutches or gearboxes were harmed in the production of this modification'

If the STI PPP has a piggyback board on the ECU, like(I think) the WRX one has then a new board/map WILL be required for the 03 PPP. The new 03 map has a different torque and power bands so it follows that any daughter board will need to be changed to take that into account.
Of course if the daughter board just over rides the existing ECU, and only uses pins of the ECU then it should be ok.
Only Prodrive will be able to tell for sure.

As many of you already know the Performance Package for the WRX STi is now available and the first parts are being delivered to dealers at the moment.
We have produced an information sheet which can be viewed at

Just need to juggle my credit cards around and find a bit of space on one of them to squeeze the PPP onto
As the mutant says, got a date for the springs ? mine are on order and hopefully being fitted on my 10k service next week.

4.62 seconds to 60, can you imagine how quick it would be if it was not so heavy...!!! i mean this engine and package in a classic shape scoob.... now there is an idea..... now what is the number for grade a subaru..

I suspect the 4.6 Seconds can be got down a lot lower. These figures are repeatable which means the tester has been kind to the car. E.g Subaru's figures for the standard car were 6.4 seconds. It was fairly easy to knock this down to 5.6-5.4.
Autocar got the 0-60 down from 5.2 to 4.9 seconds on their roadtest of the STI. It follows that the 0-60 could go down as far as 4.4.
In any case look at how much faster it is from 60-80 in 6th. A whole 3 seconds
