Question

Ive just fitted a bleed valve on my95wrx to up the pressure from 0.8 bar, when fitted I cannot get the valve low enough to stop it from boosting to 1.5 bar then poping and banging, this is obviously dangerous to the engine so need the boost to about 1.0 bar. I have adjusted the actuator slightly to lower the boost but cannot get the setup correct. In 1st gear the boost is great but 2nd 3rd and 4th go wild, spent all afternoon on this so someone please help me.

set the valve in 4th gear. 5th will overboost but is useless anyway for real acceleration. and you'll have to live with less boost in 1st/2nd etc. its cheap and a compromise.

I cant seem to get the valve closed enough though, it overboosts with the valve shut tight, how do I make the boost lower?

Is the valve the right way round ?

Apparently, this is what happens if you plumb it in the wrong way round....

Thanks

Gavin

Im still lost, the pic dont look like my car, anyone fitted one on a 95wrx? I believe the valve goes between the actuator and solenoid, where do i feed the exit on the bottom of the valve? is it just an exhaust?

RWB,

OK, I'm thinking of a "ball and spring" valve which does matter which way round...

Anyhow, on the turbo should be two feed pipes, one of them on the wastegate actuator and one "nipple" at the other end.

Pull both hoses off and connect them together.

Connect each end to the valve to both these points and leave the third part of the "T" (right-angled section) disconnected.

This diagram shows a similar setup (with the "bleed" part not included):
