Question

I need (I think to make car UK legal) to convert my current Impreza turbo Euro-spec km/h speedometer into one that can display MPH. In my ignorance I thought that assuming the km/h reading is reasonably accurate it was then just a question of putting a transparent MPH sticker over this dial and hey presto - instant conversion. I could even knock one up in Powerpoint myself ! But do such MPH stickers already exist and is it illegal to register a car in the UK without MPH indication ?

Mine has an in-line convertor on the spedo cable then the K in KM/H blacked out. This then gives an accurate milage too - but it was done from new.

Thumbs up

yes you can use stickers (many bikes have them).

They are usually transparent and so do not obscure the view of the needle. They are often "given away" on the front of bike mags.
