Thinking about it afterwards, i would guess (or hope!) the reason toby's was ticking over so poorly when you (MD) and the guy from PE jumped in it and started it, they didnt wait for the fuel pump to prime and give it 10 seconds or so to let the ecu do its self test, forgetting to do that can sometimes lead to lumpy idle.

as for 'high power levels'.......er ok md if you say so

Just a quick thankyou to all those involved with the PE rr day today

Nice to see some of the old faces, and of course nice to meet some new ones too

Thanks to the person who pointed out that my car was 'leaking' on the rollers....it was just the fmic water spray

Thanks to Toby for not slating my fmic too much, and Lets hope he gets that idle problem sorted

Mervyn said he had never seen such good intake temps as with my car, I told him it was a DIY fitted Pace, he agreed they are very good

Mega, dont be too p1ssed off mate, as I said, on the road your car is as quick as mine even with the B&H butts stuck in the top mount

Thanks again all, and nice to meet you Ian...good luck with your insurance 'claim'

Oh, and Hello to Top Cat Moe , I promise I'll look after the bonnet scoop mate

Moles Dad and Mole.

I was only running 'low' settings today

283bhp and 277lbs torque, not too bad for a TD04L (small turbo).

There were a few with higher figures, but I dont know if they were UK models ???

Cheers for now, ps I answered your ic post

Hello Chris, John did ok...not much in it, but he had a boost issue that he needs to 'fine tune'.

Nice to 'hear' from you, reckon you will be near us on bhp with the de-cat

I am looking 'round now to see what I can sell to finance my new turbo

Cheers, Andy.

Have to say actually toby's car did seem to tick over spectacularly bad even for a link car, the only time mine was that bad was after the first map i'd ever had on cold start as its a bit hard to map for cold engine after youd driven all the way to bobs lol.

Wocha Pete

Yeah, I related the effect to that of my MAF failure...but as we all know, no MAF on that car

I dont think that was cold map, all the temps were still up (?)

Anyway, when you get into the high power levels like Toby, you have to expect a few eccentricities

Nice to see you again Pete and Mrs. Pete and Mini Petes

Cheers.

Thumbs up

I was expecting more, and I think I already know why I didn't get more

The running order kinda went up the swanny, but I managed to "push" my way into the timeslot allocated to me, had an EVO in the way I didn't think was listed as running, but a bit of a nifty manoeuvre sorted that one

MD you were flaming everytime on lift off on the M25

Thanks Merv for doing the 1.25mm restrictor for me

That would be me in the EVO, there was no set running order, this was obvious when 5 of you gits pushed in front of me (oh and I was listed as running, and I helped organise the day)

Pete, no-one told me I had to wait 10sec for the ecu to do its stuff, If I had known it was a 'moody' ecu I wouldnt have touched it

High power? of course its high power....higher than my old UK

Maybe the next rr day will have a 'sign in' and number system...it could remove the 'hes in front of me' and 'he pushed in' problems associated with not having a 'system'.

Lets face it, when people have organised their day to be at the rr for a specific time slot and then find themselves being pushed further and further down the list due to some other people thinking that their presence is 'more important'....well, it just goes to prove that just because you drive a Scoob or an Evo you might not be the genuine person that people thought you were/are.

Anyroadup I had a good day, and thanks again!

Moles Dad, time slot 11-00 - 13-00.

That will be the plan for the next day!

I wasn't quite expecting almost all 30 cars to arrive within about an hour of each other!

The last time I organised a day it worked really well like that with having small groups arriving together. Still we live we learn, and we know what to do different next time.

All in all was a very good day, finished up with a meal afterwards.

Once again apologies if I didn't say hello to you or was a bit anti-social I wasn't actually feeling well, and was also feeling TOTALLY gutted that I was unable to run my car

Was good to meet a few of you guys from Kent, Mega_Stream, Moles Dad, etc... also good to see a fwe old faces I haven't seen for a while too!

OK Ian

As I understood it you was not gonna be there till later as you had 'other things' to attend to
Thats why the running order went a bit 'tilt'

Dont take my comments as a negative slant on the day, as I said...it was a very good day, maybe, as you said, with two million cars turning up together it was gonna be a bit difficult having no sign-in etc

I am, and I'm sure I speak for all, very sorry for you not being able to run your car...theres always next time

Anyway, thanks for the positive reply Ian, and yes, It was good to meet you too

Cheers.

Just having a running order written down usually seems to work fine. Twas a shame to miss it but I got a new car, courtesy of Powerstation and some handling parts and spent the afternoon being ferried about in a 360 - can't complain really

Where I come from, a 360 is a tracked excavator

MD If you listen when you turn your ignitiion on you'll here a little buzzing noise.
According to some of the more technical chaps, you should let that buzz complete before starting regardless of link or not
a few extra seconds just to make sure don't hurt, even the std ecu has to check all its sensors as soon as you turn the ignition on.

Pt, when I turn on my ignition I hear the boost controller, the HIDs and the radar detector

I will take your advice re the 'pause'....bit difficult when you suffer from 'impatientitus'

If it makes my car any quicker, I'll do it !!! Anything to get big power like Toby

(lol as I type)

I was amazed that the car put out 283bhp.
When I was buying the car I had been told it was running at 270 bhp. When I got the car it had the standard twin pipe exhaust, but the pics had shown a larger back box, also the car was Overboosting so I had to have it tweaked back a bit to cure the overboost. On the day off the test I would have been happy with 250bhp taking all these things into account.
On its 1st run which they lost the graph the car made 285bhp so I had to run again which gave 276bhp merv wasnt happy with the test so they went again and got this 283bhp.

Have to say it was a great day I was listed as a 11 am group but didnt get on till well into the afternoon.
Still milling around and chatting is what makes these things worth it. Who cares when you run aslong as you do
OH and Im glad my wallett was nearly empty as I could have spent a fair amount on the day, Discounts on FM intercoolers, Silicon Hoses, Suspension parts tuning packs ect and to cap it all free tea and coffee. Thanks to IanW and Everyone @ Power Engineering.

If those results were lower than previous, perhaps PE have finally sorted it so the figures are real and not BS Pub talk ego enhancing ones that dweebs like you need

Great day. Cheers Ian and all the PE guys. Ian, don't forget that you need to sort out Karyns wonky stickers.

Best bit of the day: karyn's face when her car was on the rollers......pricless.

Fantom......Milk 1 sugar please.
