I was wondering if anybody knew how to De-Restrict my 93 Scooby 2 Ltr Turbo it's still showing Kmh and once it hits 180 ( 110 Mph ) it backs off and does not respond to any acceleration.
I would be grateful for any advice and how much this will cost me !!!

You've found that you've hit the restrictor's limit (110mph) - LOADS of places de-restrict imports. Usually costs about £150...
Have a look for Grahame Good Racing, ScoobySport, to name but a few..... TSL motortsport could probably help too.....
Hope this helps

My wrx had a reducer fitted to the speedo, so it reads to 180mph instead of 180kph, thus moving the restrictor to 180mph, well out of harms way!
A lot of places can do it, costs £150 (ish)

Sorry O.M.
Just couldn't understand how it could be de-restricted just by changing over the speedo cable etc thought it must have to be done by changing something in the ECU
Don't suppose if anybody knows if there is anywhere up North ( Manchseter ) that does this sort of thing do you ???

A small plastic box with reduction gears is fitted in between where the cable splits(o/s of gearbox). The ecu senses this ratio reduction therefore highering the speed limit.
It does work,ive tried

Just out of curiosity, will removing the speedo cable, that is. no speedo or odometer reading, will the car be de restricted????
Does the ECU rely on the speedo cable for any other info, that would effect running?
