Hello, i've just got a quick question for anyone...
I have a standard MY98 with only a VTA dumpvalve fitted about two weeks ago. The last few days i have noticed that when i use the clutch to change down/up a gear the engine almost stalls. Its worst when i slow down and change down a gear i've even stalled a few times. It only happens when i'm running on boost. Driving under boost (below 3000revs) is fine. Any ideas what this might be, or how can i fix it??? The engine starts and stops fine, and idles at 700/800 with no prob. Also if i rev the engine from idle the revs goes down to low and almost stalls the car. Could it be the dump valve doing this (even though it was working ok when i got it fitted)??? Any ideas anyone ???

I here that VTA dump valves are not recomended for scoobs as the MAF(mass air flow sensor) is sensing air coming in then as its venting to the atmosphere its not sensing the air come back in so it thinks WTF is going on ?
thats a technical explanation

Check out the MAF sensor in the airbox & also the oxygen sensor in the downpipe.
Think that either of these could cause these symptoms ?

is it an evo d/valve. twin piston

some mess around and cause the car to stall, however if you get the right d/v it wont do this. my escort rs used to stall every time I changed gear, but the scoob is alright now. I have a baily evo d/v and all is fine.
