Top day out!

Thanks again to Paul to organising the day and Power Engineering!

Good to see everyone there, some more new faces and some of the more familar ones!

Chins, stirring it again!! Me and Danny letting him!!!

Some of the figures seem down! But then rolling roading isn't 100% accurate!

Broke the 300bhp mark, with my 301bhp & 256lb/ft torque. With some det near the redline! All of which will be fixed when Bob installs the Link next weekend!!

Danny gutted that he ONLY got 299bhp. So it looks like I bet on the wrong person!! Although his torque blew me away!

Logos/Badges - Mail me and we'll sort them out!

See some of you tomorrow at the Surrey meet!

Cheers
Andy

PS - Looks like me and Danny will heading for a showdown next time!!

Come on Jonathan which one of us did you embarrass?

I had a great day, I just love the **** taking. Jonathan manages to wind Andy and Danny like a clock. The wooden spoon must go to Jonathan even though his car would not pull the skin off a rice pudding. Only the PossumLink will save the UK300 and MY01 now. Great day Paul thanks.

Cheers for organising this Paul, and sorry we didn't stay too long. Stomach drums were going, especially after the PE guys wandered past with the Maccy's. 237bhp@6346RPM/225lbft@3300RPM from a standard UK 99 car with a spongy oil filter thingy. The better part for me is knowing it's running OK still, after 58K put on by somebody else.

Cheers Paul - I only just made it in time and was last through.

Sulking about my figures though: 229Bhp at 6460RPM and 223lbs/ft tq at about 3500.
Car's a UK MY00 with Scoobysport D/p, magnex centre and WR backbox (+ITG).
Don't know why I bother......

Thanks Paul, top day

Nice to see my exhaust mods made a bit of difference compared to Jonathan's UK300

my UK300 PPP with up-pipe and downpipe made 259bhp with 249lb/ft, still abit dissapointed about the torque though

Scott

Thanks to Cem for the ride in the M3, its nice to put a face to a name. He's also a top bloke aswell.

Thanks lads glad to see you all enjoyed it.
Nice to see the banter that was flowing but my highlight was seeing Paul having his PPP problem sorted out after he was convinced he had wasted two grand!
A big thanks also to Mervyn and Chris who managed to fit in all the cars attending, even those two rogue cars.
Lets try and organise one when the weather is cooler.
Cheers Paul.

Dear Fellow Competitors

Nice to see the first post on this thread from the man that wasnt into competition etc

Its interesting to see the changes from when I organised the first ever Rolling Road day for Scoobies. Back then a major mod was a backbox and Ramair. Now we are worried about injector sizes

Nice to see all the hardcore tuners in attendance. At one point all 4/5 were gathered around an open bonnet of one car.

As for competition its also interesting to see all the people in the middle of major mods, that wont discuss what they are

To name a couple

RICKETS "keep you gob shut about my rebuild Adam"
Tango "Still waiting for a remap"
Danny " There's still a lot of mods to fit"

Then we have

Trout "I knew I could of taken Bob out if I'd brought my STI today"

I would propose a major shootout at PE in November. Seems to give people a date to work to. Shake down at PS in Oct ready for the main event.

Need a prize for most powerfull UK car, most powerfull Import, and one for the poor old 22B that cant match any of them

Thanks Paul, most enjoyable day "wind up" for a while

Jonathan
UK300
EVO VII eater according to the Mags

ps Bob what did you get ?

Which Bob?
I got 307 BHP @ 7153 and 274 lbs/ft Torque.
Quite happy with this with only a SS exhaust system, and ITG filter.
No Mike I did not use Nitrus. But did give the car a dam good thrashing just before.

Again, thanks to Paul for organising the day, most enjoyable.

Theo - one of the turbo pipes (dont know which) sort of bent over, so it was only boosting to 7-8 psi.

Pauls face was a picture having spent 2K and having less BHP than a unmodded UK car (202 initally).

Glad he got it sorted in the end though.

Does anyone know if these are going to be on

Cheers Paul!

And thanks to everyone for there support! I imagine I was walking round like a chesire cat after my problem was sorted. Couldn't really hide it. I don't know the exact name for the tube that was bent but it was the outlet, i think, from the solenoid. So it was reaching 8psi actuator pressure and then no more was being pushed out to the turbo (hope thats right). Bob will be able to eloborate further.

Drove it home, like a completely different car. I will post the graphs on the other thread in Drivetrain. Still there were plenty cars there close to the ppp that were completely standard but I don't care now. As Bob says you always learn too late, if i knew then what i know now Bob R would be my first choice, screw the warranty. Someone who knows and cares is worth twice as much as my experience.

Anyway thanks again Paul!
look forward to seeing you all again.

Good morning out. Nice to see some old faces.

Jonathan, you're such a sh*t stirrer, but it does make it more entertaining, and as for Adam, who seems to be permanently on sodium pentathol, I'm bringing a VERY BIG roll of GAFFER tape next time

Mark.

Mark,

Don't be too hard on Adam, after all, it's just his AGE... and we all know that's his only weakness!

Was so disappointed I wasn't running as Sti needs a g/box rebuild

I could have been a contender, etc, etc.

I reckon best figures proportional to spend must go to Stirrer Bob with his amazing figures for the P1. You never had it so good.

Great to see everyone - it was just like the old days....

Cheers,

Trout

Yup,
Very nice day out. Thanks again to the organisers and especially Merv, who always displays a professional yet approachable attitude, top guy.

Was nice to also meet Scott and friend Arron, who I was very glad to see. I hope to go out in the awesome looking UK300 soon!

Cem.

p.s. Was me with M3, not Arron

This is the problem when you just purchase an exhaust and end up with 307 bhp. What mods to get next. Link/Motec how much more safe power will I get and will it be worth me spending more? I cannot see an ecu upgrade giving much more safe power, is it worth spending another few grand for maybe 10-20 bhp or even a lower fig.
Perhaps I should just buy furry dice and have a Tangomobile.

I agree with Jonathan (!!!!!!!!!)

Let's go for a 'There are no excuses!' Rolling Road day in November. So everyone can focus on getting their cars ready for the day!

Let's work it out.

Cheers,

Lol @ Bob.

Thanks to Bads, for the day. Good turnout as normal.

Andy beat me by 2 BHP, but I was 10 lb torque the better. I owe him the beers this time. Be glad when your running the link, as least then we can have a fairer comparisson.

Sorry I had to leave early, work was calling. Finishing at 4 this morning.

Cant wait until November.

Bob,

Will they be leather and nubuck dice???

Danny,

I still owe you a beer, you won fair and square!

I think by then you will be well out of my league!! Moe on the other hand may be a fairer comparison with me!

Jonathan,

I already have a set of excuses lined up!!

"It must be a bad patch of fuel!"
"The engine is still too from driving down here!"
"I'm still experimenting with the mapping!"
"I'm running too much pressure in my tyres!"
"My intercooler is suffering from too much heat soak!"
"My car is detting on the rollers, but that doesn't happen on the road!"

etc, etc
