What about fitting my STI with a full exhaust ?
I heard there may be problems with the Turbo ?! Is it real ?
Will i destroy the turbo fitting it?
Thanks mate,

Don't do it try the Milltech sports cat exhaust instead, all the power of a decat system, but no det, no boost spikes, and v.good emissions. Iain Litchfield sells them, you can find him at www.litimports.co.uk

I should have mentioned that I have the sysytem fitted to my own STI 7, with no problems, and i am very pleased with it.

I kept the down pipe and fitted a catless mid and back box both from Hayward and scott, nice sound and a definite power increase.

supposedly if you take out the downpipe on a sti7 it leads to boost spikes etc as the engine is so different to the classic, that is what i have been told anyway

Hang on has this not been done to death in the 10 page thread which eventually concluded with the solution being a 1.25 mm restrictor. Try search.

One word......
WARRANTY

Mess with the First cat, Up pipes etc, mess with the warranty. No warranty don't worry. But get a restrictor or Sport cat, needs back pressure.

I am still in the middle of all this with various options to choose from. You are going to be around 290-300 bhp when its fully decatted but I am sure some of the others will debate this. As I understand it, its the low down pick up that improves most.

I have got to say that the sports cat package now sounds pretty attractive if it eliminates the spiking without messing about with restrictors
