Thumbs up

Well we just our first on the Subaru Canada Rally Championship series last week-end in Quebec City. With 54 cars entered, we finished with 4 Subaru's in the top 10.

Frank Sprongel (Audi)finished 1st overall but he admitted some transmission problems. Tom McGeer finished 2nd with 96WRX and Sylvain Vincent came in third with 1998 Subaru Impreza RS (transplanted EJ20 with intercooler). We had also a Subaru finish in 6th place and Pat Richard with 98 Impreza RS (with only 165hp) finish in 10th.

Overall, a good start for the 2000 rally series. For those who watch the series, TSN (http://www.tsn.ca/racing/Racing_tsnschedule.asp) should airing on Feb 13, 2000 at 1pm (Eastern standard time) (around 6 or 7pm for UK).

The next race is on Feb 12-13, 2000 in Maniwaki, Quebec.

You don't happen to do that logo in a form that I can put on my car - it's so cool.. being an ex-cannuk - lived in Montreal and rest of time in TO now an ex-pat and I would love to have that sticker on my car over here.

Please let me know... and by the way well done on the rally - excellent... show the rest of Canada what a real car is all about...

Just a minute. We also had the Thunderbird rally in BC last weekend. 43 cars started of which 25% were Subarus.

Haven't seen the results posted yet. We were leading in a Impreza RS until we had an off into a snow bank that took us ~25 mins to get out of.

Subie learnt on day 2 that snow banks are cold places to be and to get out of them quick

RSQUIRE,

Sorry... but the some UK folks pick up the Canadian National Rallies (from TSN) on satelitte service. They like watching McGeer, Spongel, Buffum.

Most of the regional events aren't televised anyway. I usually attend the national events from the Canadian Subaru Rally Championship series.

You should talk to Pat Richard (with 98 Impreza RS)(he's from BC) and races both on the Canadian Subaru series and the SCCA events.

The next rally is this week-end in Maniwaki, Quebec.
Later.

Hi Robin,

Yeah I know Pat Richard well. We borrowed a set of his gravel wheels/tires for last years Coast to Coast on Vancouver island.
