Can They Still Get U???
#1
I was going down the A50 (Groby Road) and there was a Police Camera Speed Van on the opposite lane (Going up the A50).
What I want to know is can they still do you for speeding when I was slightly over the speed limit on the lane going down?

As a general rule they can`t measure the speed you are doing.
A speed camera, Gatso type requires two photographs. The one as you enter the measured zone and then one as exit.
The zone is a set distance and distinguished by the white lines you see as you pass the camera. Usually horizontal dashes.
The speed of your vehicle can then be calculated not only by the internal electronic workings of the camera but also by the second photo taken as you exit the zone and this can be done by mathmatical calculations
Rule of thumb is two flashes to the rear, expect a NIPD unless of course the film has run out One or two flashes to the front from the other carrige way is a no no
Beware of the new ones which there is no escape. YET

Vinesh,
it depends on what was in the van and whether you where coming towards the back of the van
see http://www.speed-trap.co.uk/Accused_...dgets_Home.htm for more info. Basically they stick a laser in the back and point it at you. No need for flash !
Dave.

Very very unlikely. He would need a clear and unobstructed view of you and your vehicle. Never had anything to do with those vans so can't be sure. But I would say you were ok. I wouldn't be to worried about it just remember him on the way back he is sure to remember you

I can stop panicking now.
The van was parked up on the side, but he did not have a clear view as there were a few cars going past the van.
Cheers.
