TRAX, Who really enjoyed themselves?

Trying not to be negative so I will say it was a cracking day out.
First and foremost have to bigup Trevor on the MLR stand for sorting out me and my friend Si with tracktime. Thanks for your help mate, I owe you a pint.
Secondly to everyone who was on the same session as me, for the good track manners and lack of ar$eholes diving up the inside/binning it/cutting us up. I get a bit possesive about my 3-door and I dont like it when people take liberties with its safety. Thankfully everyone played nice and I enjoyed it 10 times better than last year.
Also, to the owner of the silver Impreza, for getting a 3.93 0-60 while I was watching. Impressive. and thats an understatement.
Finally a few observations which made in impression,
On track: The amount of Sunny GTI-Rs that were spinning
The 5 second flame on overrun from the 500bhp RS500 which overtook me
The bravest man in the venue for taking a hearing aid beige Metro out on the circuit! he got a huge cheer each time he went round
day out.
astraboy.
I'll do shouts later. Am a bit busy atm! shouts to everyone I saw and met though.

track highlights for me....
the red makinen flying round....top driving!
the pink/purple golf....what a lunatic!
the purple tvr chimaera....****** gorgeous car!
watching the cossies go round. black 3 door was sweeeeeet
disappointments?
the skylines just didnt do it for me: the r32(gts?)) going sideways was good entertainment, but the r33's looked nothing special....strange!
the yank tanks....what was the point? boring!
the lack of a mass of scoobys going round. it was one of the best(and noisiest) highlights of last year.
but definately the best 'entertainment' was the golf...absolute nutter

The silver impreza which did a 0-60 of 3.9 secs was a totally custom built engine. 2.2, lightened and balanced, water cooled intercooler. 9k spent on the engine. wow.

They guy in the pink golf is a ****. No track manners at all. He nearly binned me and himself last year. I was going to have words this year if he was on my session but luckily I didnt have to.
Bellend.
astraboy.
P.S. No mate, Chris didnt attend, he was otherwise engaged.

Absolute magic day
The sessions looked safer as
1) cars lead out in two groups
2) sessions used the whole GP track
3) longer track time
IMHO
down side
1) Lack of scoobs on track(including myself)
2) The odd HiFi system with the volume turned up couldn't hear a thing
3) The poor Doctor who had to remove some Dolly birds hot pants that sunk in too far LOL
Tony

Spot on Spud, where the f**k did they all come from?! Your interior looks spot on mate, certainly got me thinking about a re-trim! How much did it cost you roughly if you don't mind me asking and where did you get it done? You can PM me on the MLR if you like.
Top performers for me were the R5 GTT, with 2 engines, putting in a 3.10 Sec 0-60, and the Sapphire Cossie, that didn't look anything special at all when it pulled up to the line...before banging in a 3.16 Sec...

The black Sapphire Cosworth, who posts as Rapid1 on the RS bbs, did two runs - a 3.16 secs 0-60 and a ****2.93**** !!!!
Fastest on the day! From what i have read, he hasn't spend megabucks on it and it's reliable. Big WOW!!

Mu favourite was the Escort Cosworth which looked standard but lit up all four on its 0-60 run. Was so impressed with that that I've forgotten the time! Doh!

Some nice cars there and some total crap, did anyone see the light blue Cavalier with about 20 spoilers? Most funny. Track action was good , 0-60 was fun(shame you could see the times unless you were standing right near the start)
But the bloody stereos pumping out fecking UK garage music all bloody day was slightly annoying. Yes you have a loud stereo, so?
The PA systems near the pits were even worse! I'm sure that not everybody who goes to these events wants to be deafened by banging music.
Some of the driving around the infield and car parks was a bit stupid as well. Loads of people around and people gunning their cars through the middle of them. Can't believe no one was run over.
Still saw some great cars (not sure about Blowdogs bonnet though, are you going to get it sprayed? )but don't know if I'll go next year.

Did anyone have track time whist James Goulds 106 gti was on there? Apparently people in the stand where laughing at the fact that a 106 had gone out with scoobys and evos on the track yet was able to keep up quite well Anyone see it??

Seriously, don't ever count out those 106 GTIs - I had one myself before my Subaru and have to say that 'out of the box' they handle better than Scoobies round the curvy bits!

it was done by jamie shaw at carisma in colchester (he was the one who did the cerbera at max power) and i think he was showing his renault 5 yesterday at trax.
the only thing thats untouched(for now ) on the interior is the carpet.
even the backs of the seats have leather, sun visors, abc pillars, the lot!
with all the custom badges on the exterior, the whole thing cost 2.5k and took 2 weeks. took longer coz we had to wait for the embroidery for the logos on the seats.
IMHO, probably the best thing ive ever done on a car.looks and feels like how its meant to be. i think they put additional foam in the seats too, they feel fantasticly comfortable yet grippy
i put a spec sheet and graphs in the front of the car coz ive done all this in just under 6 months and couldnt remember everything
still aint finished yet

Cheers Spud. I'm sure when you was looking at getting an Evo VI that you said you weren't going to go down the costly modding road on this one...
By the way I came close myself to buying your VI from Rich just before I got my V about 6 months ago.

Horgaxx-I watched you and it was wicked. You were getting bigger and bigger slides each lap for the grandstand.Everyone was cheering and clapped you when you came back in.
I just missed the purple golf and when I asked why he was being cheered when he came back in I was told it was because he was driving like a complete ****.
On the 200plus session Stu's Skyline sounded amazing until a diff let go.Andy Nicholl's Maestro was flying, hitting 140mph down the straight despite overheating and him backing off.Club owner Chris Mann made a good show of himself too keeping up with the Skylines in a Rover Turbo Coupe!
Saw the white WRX run 60 in 3.9 and 4.5.On his 3.9 run he got an excellent launch and just flew.Saw a RWD Saphire run low 4secs despite fishtailing off the line then when he changed to 2nd he was nearly sideways.

I thought it was a great day and good seeing your 3dr astraboy...its a pearl. I agree with your comments about the knobber in the pink golf as he just wasnt playing ball and had too much track spirit. I'm surprised nobody clumped him.
Bruces black 3dr was on a mission and so was his mates black S2 (which almost had pink side mouldings )
A great display of Scoobys of all different guises...
Who's the candidate that spun this then...any one?
