Question

My lovely helpful local dealer has just told me that if I put AP 6 pots on my P1, then my warranty will be void.
I wasn't expecting it to negate everything

Does anyone else have experience of doing this?
Is what they are telling me true?

Cheers

Medders

Your dealer is talking complete rubbish!

I suspect he is just trying to "scare" you into buying an Alcon kit.

The stresses and extra loads are of the same nature, so I fail to see what basis he/they may have that may invalidate a warranty for any reason.

The only way the warranty will be void is if the fitting of the AP brakes in some way make something else brake or go wrong. Can't think of anything off-hand though. Un-Like all Prodrive mods, they are IM approved and do not affect warranties.

And of course the onus would be with the dealer to prove that whatever broke, that the cause was down specifically to the AP kit, and that that breakage wouldn't have occurred with the approved kit.
