We are endanger becoming a laughing stock.
This bulletin board has over 7000 registered members and is read by over 50,000 non registered people.
We all drive cars that cost somewhere between 8k and 40k. They give low mpg and are not cheap to run, BUT being succesful people we are proud to have our luxury toy.
The love of our car has drawn us to this BBS, where we chat with similar minded people.
So why is it then that Simon's World Record Attempt has only raised 4 grand ????????

I have an issue here with what charity it is been given to, I know we can all vote etc, but I still may not 'agree' with the chosen charity.
I'd actually prefer my money to go to running Scoobynet, is there anyway that can be done?

Thank you Pete!
It is true.. we ARE all capabable of MUCH more than this.
gregh
Thank you VERY much for the thought.. But scoobynet is not a charity. There are FAR more deserved causes.
You would definitely be supporting scoobynet and helping it to continue by helping produce a value in sponsorship which made us all proud and gave the media something to talk about.
If you would like to support scoobynet seperately there are other ways as well. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the support.
All the best
Simon

I have had so much for "Free" from this BBS
So I pledge another £10.00 (Total:30.00)
If I had not paid £K's for my leg operation (Private, abroad) I could afford and would love to be there on the Day....
If at least £10k is not raised I hate to say it ,but I would feel ashamed....
No other "Modification" for the money will make you feel better.
And bollocks even if the event is cancelled I am still paying. Even a little amount could do some child good.
WE DRIVE "SCOOBY'S" NOT "SCROOGEY'S"

Can i just point out - i read the thread and how i read it i had to pledge £100.
It seems that isnt the case.
I consider myself of "fair to good" inteligence.
Is it clear you dont have to pledge £100????
Could that be holding people back??
i assume the £100 is so you can turn up and watch???
Jza
Pledge to follow!!

VERY GOOD POINT! Thank you very much..
I never thought that this might be a confusion..
Is it worth me starting a new thread explaining that you can pledge ANY amount?
THANK YOU everyone.. if we keep this pace up until sunday we'll make the £10K! Something we can ALL be VERY proud of...
if you have not yet pledged.. do your bit to make sure the efforts of everyone else are rewarded and we raise a hill of money to be proud of!
All the best

Simon - dont think it is really thanks to pete's "blanket" posting !! With the speed you must be raising money now, you will probably have it live on TV with Lenny Henry and Terry Wogan presenting it, and a Westlife dodgy cover version fundraising single done soon !!!
Maybe not. Taxi for Dave..........

A tenner will do, but I'm sure a man of your means would want to pledge at least twenty quid

How do you know it was only a tenner??? It was more than that actually!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe i am a thicko, but if someone read it yesterday and got the same impression, and didnt look today, they may have missed out.
Can you email every single BBS user? Im sure that some people who dont have 5 days a week access would willingly part with the wedge - can you do that????
Would a re-post of the correct situation hurt??
Good luck and keep it sideways. Its hard work in the WRX - i should know!! Tesco's car park will never be the same

Markus,
With the greatest respect - give over!!
Pete's mails are obviously having the desired effect, right? And that's the important thing, right??
This is a one-off, and the guys only have two days more to get the support they're looking for. Who/when/where/how doesn't really matter...
Terry
