Question

...what's the luggage capacity of an MY01 wagon, in litres?

I can find the spec for the saloon, but not the wagon.

Anyone know? And if not the bugeye, then the old, out-of-date, understeering one (wossitcalled again?)

From the subaru USA site:

This is for the bugeyed one:

EPA Cargo Volume (cubic feet) 27.9 (rear seat up) or 61.6 (rear seat down SAE)

god knows what SAE is.

To convert cubic feet (ft3) to Liters (l) multiple by 28.31685

thus:

27.9 cubic feet = 790.04011 liters

61.6 cubic feet = 1744.318 liters

dunno if that makes any sense at all to you

It's the Society of Automotive Engineers - I guess they have a standard way of measuring boot (trunk) capacity.

Red face

Thanks Markus.

Tried to post a reply to this earlier, didn't work. Wanted to illustrate something and promptly got egg on face

Namely, your figure seemed extremely high, compared to others I'd read. To get my figures right, looked at whatcar.com. It did indeed show that a 3-series Touring has 1345, C-class estate has 1384 and Volvo V70 only has 1641.

Then had a thought, checked it for the Impreza, and found 1266!

Odd how they're so different. I know the US Gallon is smaller than ours, but not the litre! Or, I wonder if the Americans include front seat space?

Better back off those party plans Pete...
