Just had a new windscreen fitted today by Autoglass! 50quid excess! I've no idea how it happened. Obviously a chip turning into a big long crack. I also decided to replace the wipers at 20quid, again from Autoglass.

I had a bit crack with the bloke from Autoglass and he said that he get's quite a few Scoobies in for replacement windscreens. Should I be worrying? I don't want to fork out 50quid everytime it happens.

Also he said that they have a nightmare getting a hold of import windscreens because of there tinted not like mine which is a MY97 'R' UK car.

Cheers

Cool

Famous last words, but I've found you always get through one windscreen in the first 6 months, then (touch wood) things settle down a bit...

Cool

I think it has something to do with the speed the stones are travelling when they hit you. I always found they where travelling much quicker than normal when I was in the scoob

I've done 150,000 miles in 3 Turbos since 1994 and only needed one windscreen replacing (on 2nd car). Mind, Autoglass made a huge mess of it and had to fit 3 new screens before they got it right. Never again...

Unhappy

Had mine replaced six weeks ago (first in two years) by Silvershield (only place with bronze tint for import). The door timer control box for the central locking has now burnt out due to being full of water! Coincidence? Back to Silvershield to check sealing.

Not a happy
