After opinion on possible car purchase...

You’ve probably had this before... novice who thinks they may have found that elusive Scooby they have been searching for forever! Well I am in the same predicament...
It’s a Red ’95 Scooby (sedan). Imported (into New Zealand) from Japan in 96/97, and has had the one owner since then. Car is (apparently, although I’ve only seen the 1 photo) immaculate, inside and out. Factory fitted big bore (3” straight from the turbo) and otherwise, pretty bog standard. The only issue I really have is that it has done 117,000kms (73,000miles), although they have most been across-country long distance k’s. The owners are also relatively old (c.f. myself anyway!) but that really doesn't mean squat!
Oh yeah, they are after 18-19k (NZ$, so something like 6.5k in your currency, although the car market could be entirely different).
Anyone have an opinion on this particular vehicle?
Thanks everyone
Jase

From what is posted - as long as it has had proper servicing (including the necessary oil changes)....... 73K miles shouldnt be anything to worry about. The turbo is allegedly good for over 100000 miles if the car is looked after......
Hope this helps,

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind next time I talk to the owners.
I'm thinking it might be "the one" but its a fair few kms away from where I live so it'll take a weekend trip just to see it... might have to check out a few more while I'm away.
Cheers dude

OK... after some more looking around, there are a few cars scattered around the country, but not that many '95 models.
This particular one has done a much larger amount of k's than any other model I can find, most others are 60-80,000kms (40-50,000miles), BUT have just come off the boat yesterday, therefore the k's are japanese k's and also the cars don't have service history, so you need to guess.
So the NZ driven car with more cars would 'most likely' be a better purchase than a fresh import with less k's? (pretty much similar price, too).
Cheers
