Not sure if this is in the right place but I'm sure it'll be moved if it's not

I need a 45k service done.

The car's out of warranty so where's the best/cheapest place the go?

I know that best and cheap don't usually make good bed fellows but any advice you lot can give me would be appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

I've seen prices from £300 to £450 for the cambelt change

I'm in the same boat but it'll go to the dealers I think.

Try Power Engineering. They are not the cheapest but their work is great.

Cheap is not always the best route to take.

Cheers Jason and I know cheap isn't always the best but sometimes you have no choice mate.

I'm not looking for cheap I'm looking for value for money.

Power Engineering have quoted me £664 incl vat which is £200 more than a Subaru dealer quoted for the same job.

Hmmm I have a feelong that I'm going to be here for a while

Try Subaru4You, they work for Subaru but have their own business, all genuin parts and the hourly rate is much cheaper. They are just off the M4 at junction 12.

Keep an eye out on the thread above for their no.

If you can wait 2 weeks then you'll have another option, which might suit depending on your location. There's a Subaru garage near me which is closing down soon. The mechanic is starting an independent / specialist garage in NW London, specialising in Scoobs. He knows his stuff, and assures me prices will be very realistic. If you're interested I'll provide more details.

Cool

We are a Subaru dealer and charge £320 inc vat.

But we are in Carlisle which is a bit far to travel unless you fancy a weekend in the lakes.

Nice price but seeing as the petrol cost would add up to about £100 I think I'll stay Down South

Shame tho

Cheers
