When you consider that there was a (innocent) guy killed a couple of nights ago when he got caught up in a 'road race' in Mitcham, I don't think you are going to get a lot of replies.

Why dont you get some "safe" footage of people doing trackdays/Nurburgring etc?
This proves that you can own a performance car and do sensible things with it and not act like a complete to55er on the road and that there are actually sensible ways of getting round not trying to kill innocent people.
I think if you were doing a programme on this it may "enlighten" some of the people your trying to get hold of and show them that there are other ways of enjoying themselves and not putting other innocent people at risk whilst doing it.
Will also state this following message.....
"Motorsport is dangerous and is undertaken or spectated at your own risk".

Oi Miss BBC... THINK YOUR LOOKING FOR @RSOLEINANOVANET.COM....
Since when have the BBC started commissioning such irresponsable programming?
Arent there enough idiot drivers on the road without you having to go glamorise it more so youngsters think its cool to race on public roads????
GROW UP!
(And ditch that "Britains Most Sexy xxxxx" programme - never seen such a pile of crap in my life!

Bwoy!
I think we've all got a little carried away here!
firstly the programme will not be glamourising racing.
The purpose of the programme - which I apologise for not stating earlier - is actually to highlight girl racers....who seem to be a rare breed.
We would like to educate viewers about the type of illegal racing that can and does go on in the car world as well as promoting the more positive side of this sport where the majority do take part in sensible, legal and licenced racing.

I think "girl racers" does not mean "female racing drivers", but in this case means, "female equivalent of the stereotype 'boy racer' who hangs around macdonalds in his nova largin' it, or thinks that 60 in a 30 zone shows elite driving skills".
*sigh* we had a request for this a few months back. That got nowhere either.

Well we've already found all the girl racers we need.
For goodness sakes.....if this was a ploy - think about it.....I'm going to an awful lot of trouble, and wasting an awful lot of time...??!!

I think someone has beaten the BBC to making this programme a little while back. I think the program was called Fast and Furious and it featured a few girls taking part in illegal street racing etc and although the programme did it's best to portray these females as sexy and hip the Mary Whitehouse brigade had a field day with it both here and in the US.
Any program based on street racing no matter what the intention is always going to come over as something which is promoting illegal and dangerous activities and is not a good idea and probably very detrimental to car enthuiasts in general IMHO. I'm not saying that such films\prgroams wouldn't interest some petrol heads butthe general public usually take a dim view of these matters.

I'll come along but it may be a bit boring as I will refuse to go over 30 mph as I am a law abiding citizen like all the other posters on here.
You may want to try www.madscoobydrivers.net
And you stole the corner......

This is proving to be a fruitless search, so I think I'll stop here.
Thanks for the critique on the fast and the furious and additional related programming. However I think my editors know very well what's already been done and how they want to cover the story.

May have been less fruitless if you'd been a little more eloquent with your request
But if you're making a programme on street racing, I for one, don't want you on here. Most of us don't agree with organised racing on the roads of any kind.
bye bye.
