Rear Bumper Removal
#1
I hope I'm in the correct froum but has anyone taken off their rear bumper?
Some **** in a S600 wellied into the back of me about two months ago, and at the time I didn't think there was any damage (much to my extreme suprise).
BUT when I took the car for its next service it was pointed out that the mountings (?) that hold the bumper to the car are twisted/bent and need replacing. The bumper itself it totally unmarked. The dealers recon its easy but time comsuming aka costly so I wonder if ayone could give me adive/pointers as to how to do it myself. Clearly I cannot claim of the other bloke although with a car like that I wish I could as I guess he can afford it!
Thanks in advance.
Rob.

Hi Rob,
Had the same thing back in November, only mine was a concrete bollard
It's actually quite easy. Two bolts underneath and the one ticky bit. There are some screw/clips in the rear wheel arches. BE VERY CAREFUL as these snap very easily.
Once you've got the bumper off, yes, it's a sod of a job to get the frame true again.
Or you could buy my rear bumper chassis and simply slide your bumper skin back on to it
Hope this helps......
