every 6 months or 7,500 which ever is the sooner !!!. There is no 23K mile service the closest is a 22,500 mile service which is an interim (oil change and inspection) the next service is 30K service and is big expect to pay around £400 off a Subaru dealer. The 37,500 service is an interim but the 45,000 service is also a big service (cambelt I think).

As far as cost, depends on which service it is. Check the log book.
Could well be the 30K service, your probably looking £500.
If it's the 37.5K should be less. Around £250 ish.
45K is the big one.

My local garage said that for the MY00, the cambelt change is at 60000 miles . Hence for 45k miles thhe price was quite cheap
Here is their quote......
".... your car should not require the belt changed till 60 000 miles, the service for 3 years will be a 45k service less the cam belt which is the same as 15k service
price would be £113.76 hope this helps regards "

All this information does not ring true.
Your right that the 7500 mile serve is only oil, filter, level top up and inspect.
The 30k will be over £300 and then the 45k is the cambelt. If this is left until 60k you'll be taking a big risk which on no account should you do.
Mine had the 45k service with the cambelt changed for £483 but this did include a new windscreen wiper.
Again if you don't clock up all the milege but it's by the 6 mth period then this is just the same.
Be warned these cars are not cheap to maintain.

The cambelt interval on MY 00 cars and newer IS definatley 60,000 miles, it makes for an expensive service at 60 K but you save at 45k, swings and roundabouts I guess

Yup your looking at the 30k service (2 year old car, 2 services at 6 month intervals = 15jk per year x 2 = 30k)
It should come to around 400 quid at the most and your car will be in for most of the day (takes about 3 hours to do).
Ahhhh the fun of running a subaru
Oh, just to add what gets done
All lubricants are changed, ie all diff oils, gearbox oil, brake fluid etc so its quite a pain....

I recently contacted subaru customer service after reading in Banzai magazine that service intervals had been changed.
Previously for me
7500 klms or 6 months whichever came first.
Now after consulting Subaru customer service
25000 klms (providing fully synthetic oil is used)
or 12 months whichever comes first.
they even sent me a new service book with the new klms and dates!
the book is a little misleading because the service book actualy covers all models of subaru.....
There are two different schedules for turbo and non turbo
The turbo is only the top boxes in the book with turbo+H6 written in faded writing the other boxes (bottom) are for non turbo.
That's how it works in the new book anyway!
Plums.
P.S. I live in Switzerland so please do check with customer service in the U.K. and maybe they send you a new service book.

Try phoning around for your 30k service
I paid about 400 in total and waited while work was done(took 90 mins roughly)
I have heard that some official delaers do it for 380 while other are more expensive

£400 is about right (check if this is before or inc. VAT!)
I remember paying £670 - but that included £150 for new brake pads and fitting....
still hurts though!

One little known fact is that I was offered on MY98, just after I sold it a special service schedule because I did low mileage 5K miles a year. If you do low mileage it maybe worth talking to Subaru UK directly or getting your dealer to. This was a couple of years back though.

Don't know where your from, but I get mine serviced at Gatwick Subaru Gatwick.
I joined SIDC so I could get a discount at this dealer.
a) MY99 Wagon
b) Had about 24K on the clock when the 3 year service was due
c) Full 3 year service
d) MOT
e) Relaced all the fluids that the 3 years dictates
f) New set of wiper blades
g) Washed/hoovered a polished
With my discount it came to £424. Not bad I thought.
It's worth phoning around. My supplying dealer Bell & Colvill (excellent sales service BTW) was up nearer the £600 mark.

Is there anything major done until the 30k service ? ie: is it just, oil change, filter change and top up of fluids until the 30k miles ? I mean I know there will be inspections of fluids but are any fluids like brake, coolant, diff, etc actually changed until the 30k or all just top ups ?
Cheers,
Ray
