New Front end for 2003??????????
#1
Can anyone help? I have a GX being traded in for a WRX on 01/09/02. I read that Subaru in their infinate wisdom have scrapped the "Bug Eyes" and have redsigned the whole nose including lamps for a 2003 launch. Does anyone have any pics?????
i hear it will be launched at the Paris Motor show in Sept.
Cheers

Check back to 13/08 and the request from Lucky_strike asking if anyone had any pictures of the new front end for 2003.
There is a reply from Gibbo with something that does not look too good. Looks as if - horror of horrors - Subaru are going for the more "executive" look with the slinky new front wings.
I did think at the time I saw this thread that there would be more comment from everyone.
Mysteriously overlooked ?

The point its all rumours and theres nothign official. My own personal opinion is that it is isnt going to be that bigger change just a mid model lifetime revamp. Now that subaru are supplying the light conversions they will probably figure into the equation in some way but again this is purely guess work on my behalf.

WOW no steering wheel...
Is this the new fly by wire joystick Tomorrows World featured in 1996.....
Thats quite poor photoshop by the way, looks like somebody stamped on the front of the bonnet and squashed the lights into submission.... And thats just lazy with the STi logo, spose it could be quite a good gimick when you hammer up behind people so they can see you drive STi in the mirrors.

The latest Motor Magazine in Australia (or was it Wheels?) has spy pics of the "restyled" front end.
If you thought the current bug-eyed Rex was "ugly", be prepared, because if the spy pictures are correct, it makes the current model look beautiful.
Think of a cross between the Mercedes S-Class lights and the existing bug-eyed headlights. It looks like someone melted the plastic towards the centre grill. Ahh, modern design techiques!
Incidently, the updated styling does not have anything to do with Andreas Zapatinas (of Alfa fame) - he has also been busy distancing himself from the styling of the next Liberty/Legacy model. Make of that what you will...
