Just read this in Autocar's Ask Sutcliffe pages:

Q: I run my Impreza on 95RON fuel but I’ve heard that there would be a performance increase if I changed to 98RON. Is it worth the extra cash?

A: You’d definitely notice a difference on a full tank of 98: the car will feel sharper everywhere and probably feel as if it has another 10bhp. It’s up to you whether it’s worth paying extra for 98 all the time. Try it for a week and see how you feel.
