Not sure about what area to post in forum (mods feel free to move if i am wrong)

What is the best cleaner out there generally for my alloys and can you coat with something to make them clean easier.

Thanks in advance

I have to agree with Col...
Wonder wheels is great! I bought a 1L bottle of this three years ago, and it's still 3/4 full!!! Great product, Great Value!

Also reccomend the tyre dressing from Wonder wheels... Very Good!

MucOff from Halfords - It's meant for mountain bikes but is also very good for wheels. It leaves a protective layer as well.

Wax wizard wheel cleaner.
Wonder wheels is fine,so long as there is no damage to the laquer on the wheel. If there is, Wonder Wheels will eat away at the alloy as it's acid based

Wax wizard I say, as Neil said - Wonder Wheels will eat the wheel if there is any imperfections.

Someone once said would you use Wonder Wheels etc on your car paintwork to remove stubborn dirt etc?

If you wouldn't, why would you use it on your wheels.......

Thumbs up

Just tried Halfords foam alloy cleaner and it works v well.

Also got the wheel poilsh to help the dust wash off so you don't need to use a cleaner so much.

wonder wheels but dont spill it on the brake caliper or it will stain.

try polishing the alloys after you have cleaned them. it helps to stop the brake dust sticking to them.

as mentioned above, wonderwheels is also excellent for cleaning the back box !!!

dave

p.s. if you do stain the brakes then you could paint them with foliatec brake caliper paint ! could even match the bodywork !!

WAX WIZARD's Clay Bar and lubricant. The most effective wheel cleaner I have ever used. Then just Wax for that lasting shine, and protection against hot brake dust
