Subaru Extended Warranty Question
I have just received the details from Subaru regarding the extended warranty, as my car will be 3 years old at the end of this month.
I'd like to know what are the general opinions as to whether it's worth it, or not.
Price wise, I would say it seems reasonable enough @ £388 for a further 2 years of cover (based on 60K miles).
The details as to what is covered, though, are not really clear, other than the policy is 'near identical' to the original cover.
Does anybody have any experience of claiming under the extended scheme, and/or know about what is/is not covered.Anything I need to consider?
I guess there must be many more people on here receiving this info for Aug 98 registered cars. Are you taking up the offer?

After a long, painful 2 weeks my car was fixed on this extended warranty. It is definitely worth having!!!! I had electrical fault to fuel pump, it took the dealer 8 days to fix it! - emagine the cost. Also included is subaru assistace - they will recover your car to the neares dealer free - I was quoted £100+ for a low loader alone!!!
Also - If you extend the warranty now, you can keep renewing it each year indefinately
so any probs are always fixed. Also you can transfer it to the next owner meaning your car is probably then worth 500 quid more to someone.
NOTE: If you dont take ot this warranty now it will never be offered to you again and you are not entitled to it EVER!
Subaru (from an inside source) are one of the few companys who offer a very high warranty service. 95% of parts are covered (except obvious like cluch, brake pads/disks)
Say you turbo or whhel bearing is noisy, they class it as failed and it is replaced, 3rd party warranty co. would say - general wear and tear and not fix it!!
IMHO : This warranty is a steal and you would be silly not to get it. !!!

I am in a similar situation and am likely to extend with Subaru, seems like a good deal to me. Any ideas about the mileage limit though - I presume if you hit 60K it is game over ? The unlimited one is another £200 I think.
