Somebody tried to nick my Prodrive WR wing!
#1
Came out of the house to go to work today and found my Spoiler hanging off the car! They ****** prised one of the supports off, damaging the boot in the process!!! The other support stayed put tho so the bloody wing is cracked in a load of places!
Don't know whether to be angry or cry . At least they didn't get the wing tho.
Tony.

I had my rear wing and bonnet scoop stolen off my 00my UK Turbo last year.......had to get it replaced on insurance cost me £350 excess.......I wasn't happy to say the least........I fantasised for months afterwards about catching the sods doing it......
I eventually made on the situation by having a word with the local accident repair place to order me a prodrive rear wing instead of the standard wing (all on insurance).......I also said all the dents and scratches were made by the vandals......where in fact I had picked them up in my local multistorey car park........so I ended up with my scooby in mint condition with a prodrive wing.......
Kris
ps.....I now have a WR Blue STi Type UK and I am up at the bedroom window everytime I hear voices outside late at night........

Flamin scum of the earth, you see them all te time don't you, in there clapped out astra's with a scoop on the bon'ie, make me feel like following them and pinching it back, so they know what it feels like, but it would not bother them as there car is worth less than a tank of gas in ours, flam'in scum

Wish i could cut their theiving hands off!!!!!
Wurzel, i take it you know how much a Prodrive wing cost? It might be repairable, if so i don't want to involve the insurance. It looks bad at the moment but it's still in one piece so maybe it can be fixed.

I had the wing pinched from my Honda Accord Type R several months ago. It was a dark black/purple pearlescent colour. They simpley ripped it off the boot (4 bolts!!!) ruining the boot lid in the process. Claimed on insurance and had the lot replaced - well over £1000.
Few days after, I saw a Vauxhall Carlton GSi3000 wearing it!!! Looked horrific!

Here is some pics of the damage done to Tony's rear wing.
Doesn't look too good does it??? Unless anyone knows any good fibreglass repairers? Looks like its a write off, unfortunately.

Bast%rds... I won't leave mine out any more, not even on the drive.
It looks fairly bad, but from the pics.. i think it could be repaired. I'll get the number of a local guy who repaired a mates fibreglass bonnet, that was in two pieces to start with.. looks new now.

If you dont have any luck finding someone to repair your wing it might be worth trying a motorcycle fairing repairer, i got a replica fairing repaired on my last bike but not local to you i'm afraid.... top job.. looked as new..

Im a forensic scientist Tone Loc. DONT TOUCH THE SPOILER. FINGERPRINTS!!!! i noticed its raining but they would have had to reach underneath the spoiler to pull it therefore leaving their pore prints which should still be there untouched by the weather. Its worth a go. Its all you got to go on at the moment, unless that is you have already touched it??
Things like this really really pi$$ me off. If i ever caught someone vandalising a car id rip their bloody hands off.
Regards

The wing has already come off the car. Tony is going to see someone today to see if it is fixable. Luckily his brother-in-law had another rear wing that he could put on his car in the mean time. All we have to do now is get the boot fixed. As you can see from the pics they've bent it trying to get the wing off! Just keep as close eye on your scoobs!!!

I HAD MY P1 SPOILER RIPPED OFF LAST YEAR,IT COST ME £1500 AND PRODRIVE WERE NOT HELPFUL SAYING IF I DID NOT BUY A NEW P1 SPOILER MY CAR WOULD BE DEVALUED SO WHEN I SOLD THE CAR IT WOULD TURN UP AS HAVING A P1 SPOILER ORIGINALLY,NOT TO HAPPY AT ALL
THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS HELPFUL ADVISING ME NOT TO CLAIM AS MY INSURANCE WOULD INCREASE DRAMATICALLY(AT LEAST HONEST).HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER DEALINGS WITH PRODRIVE

Yep, had the same problems with my P1, I fully sympathise with whats happened here. My P1 was badly damaged and still have those images of my car when it happended. Ripped the spoiler and tried the bonnet scoop too. So much damage and cost that I had no choice but to claim off the insurance. Now left with a £400 excess to pay.

Avi, if you can get that number let me have it please.
A women up the road saw the whole thing. A bunch of guys in a couple of cars pull up, two got out and started pulling at the wing. She heard a big crack (my spoiler ) and then they ran off back in the car and disappeared. She stood and watched it all and did nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for that .

This sort of stuff is really pi$$ing me off too....
Every time I see a "Max Shower" car, with scooby bonnet scoops, and other bits that were obviously never intended to be fitted to Novas, Saxos and the likes....
Only the other day, was leaving a shopping centre multi story car park and saw a Ford Orion, yes, Orion, must be 15 years old, with a lovely looking Mitsi Evo 6 spoiler strapped on the tail gate. Completely the wrong colour and all....
And as you can imagine, it looked fantastic... NOT!!! Some poor sod will have had to fork out more than that car was worth just to replace it...
Fooking b'stards the lot of em... I swear, I would do time if I ever caught the ******* going near my motor....
Looking at the spoiler mate, if it could be fixed, I wouldn't be too confident driving at high speeds... Good luck all the same with it though....
