RB5...

If the standard Turbo has 17inch gold wheels and was in green and had the Air con and big spoiler then I might hessitate..

Although if they are the same price then either the RB5 is cheap or the standard Turbo expensive..

Voting RB5!!!

Colin,
Is it a standard RB5, or is it the "bells and whistles" WR version?
Did you say same condition as well?
Go for the one in the best nick simple as that.

Same Year, Same Mileage, same PRICE!!!

With this criterior, you shouldn't have to ask, of course you should go for the RB5!.

Yup go for an RB5
Dunno where they got the fact that an RB5 is cheaper to insure than a std turbo due to the fact the RB5 is grp18 over the grp17 of a turbo?
But try liverpool victoria for insurance, they whooped direct lines *** by 300 quid on my renewall

Why on earth would an RB5 be grp 18 vs 17 for a std turbo. The differences are purely cosmetic.

An RB5 WR is another matter.

Go for an Sti V5. Get 17 inch tyres, tune the suspension and you'll knock an RB5 and UK turbo for 6.

LOL When i was looking for a Scooby I saw a Green 98 Turbo prodrive with gold wheels and air con sitting next to a RB5, the 98 Turbo was in my price range but the RB5 was just out of it but as we were looking at both you wouldnt belive the number of people who looked at the Green Turbo and just walked past the RB5 with out taking a second glance
I ended up buying the Prodrive Turbo as it was in better condition than the RB5 and had also done less miles but i realy did find it intresting to watch all those people look at my car (wasnt mine at the time) and not look at the RB5
I supose the RB5 is only special if you know it is to most people its just another Subaru and a funny colour one at that.

Andy

PS to answer you question if they were both the same price/millage ect id have the RB5 but then i know about Subaru impreza's now

Definetly the RB5, seeing as it was the best until the P1 came out (and don't bother replying stating the 22B, as there are only 16 or less UK ones).
Check the options and addons though.
If its an RB5 WR prodrive, then you've got a serious bargain.

And the difference in performance is? I'm a non-owner (as yet).
