Unhappy

Hi All,

first time in here so be gentle.
I have a standard UK 2001 Impreza Turbo2000....last of the old style I have done about 14,000 miles from new since Jan 01. When it is cold (first 5 minutes of driving)...it pulses we given a steady throttle. It sounds a bit like the turbo is gently try to spin-up and then straight down again. I have also had the occasionally time when given full throttle their has been a loooonnnnngggg delay before the Turbo span up. Finally from new I have not been that impressed with the top end power...that is above 5000rpm it seems to die-off quite a bit compared with what I imagined should happen.

Any Ideas? Have I got a Friday afternoon one? The dealer that has serviced it says their is nothing wrong.

Help appreciated.

Sounds a lot like my car, running octane booster along with SUL helps a lot.

You've not bought my old car have you. The hesitating bag of sh!te.
Only thing that cured mine was the PossumLink.
SUL=Super-Un-Leaded

Super Unleaded Petrol, it's the expensive stuff you get at some petrol stations, 85.9p a litre last I noticed

Thanks for the advice on the SUL, but it just seems to be getting worse and worse...so I can't put it all down to the petrol I buy.

Based on mine the problem is still there, just as no-one appears to be able to sort it I try to do what I can to minimise the effects
