Last night getting into my car the door didn't shut properly. I finally traced this down to a little black piece of plastic above the door (sorry I dont know what this is).

I wound my window down and then shut the door and then wound the window up. It didnt catch then.

Since then it seems to catch on the plastic every so often.

Could someone help by telling me what this black bit is, why it might be ocurring and how I make sure it doesnt happen again.

Many Thanks

I have no idea what it is, but it also happens on mine. I find the most effective thing to do is to try and use it as a handle to lift the car up with!
Fixes the problem for at least a week!

I don't really want to break it off by doing that.

Do you reckon it is a warranty issue, have you tried that approach ?

I think it's supposed to be a guide for the (electric) windows. I've noticed that lots of modern car with electric windows have them, but rarely any older ones.

Twas the only use I could think for them, but really I've no idea!
