Wink

After reading MarkWRX's post about going to the subaru garage to spend £15 and coming away with an STI, strange forces seemed to tell me to get in my car and find a local dealer with an STI.

one proud owner of a WR Blue Prodrive STI stands before you.

Anyway Mark, the missus aint happy with you, and I suspect my bank manager will be wanting words.

No can do yet. Deposit with dealer, gotta transfer the private plate which'll take a couple of weeks.

Would have liked the black personally, doesn't stand out so much to the undesirable element, but have to admit the blue looks the dogs. Impressed with extra £46 per year for insurance too

Deal was reasonable, the WRX's have lost **** loads in their first year, dealer says whole impreza market is depressed. Had a good chat about inflated price of last of the old shape, what the MY03 will look like etc. What he offered was fair considering the price of the STi and what he had on the forecourt, would have liked another £500, but hey whats £500 over the length of a loan. It was certainly more than some people are asking for their MY01's on here.

Took the car for an extended test drive, can't believe how different it was (coming from a WRX wagon didn't help). The looks I was getting were great too, even Mr Plod looked like he was catching flies

Have been lusting after an EVO for a while, but still could n't convince myself re: MPG, around town ride and service intervals. The mitsi dealers seem to get a big slating on the mlr too.

Oh, and this one is staying standard, apart from ICE.

£46 per year!, mine is £35 more per month!!! Either Im paying too much or I had a good deal before.

There seems to be a big difference in what dealers will offer. My local dealer didnt even come close, but the one I ended up with was pretty good considering the state of the market as you say. The best I could haggle was to get 12 months tax!

Agree on the test drive, it is a totally different car to the WRX+PPP.

I went to Xtreme the other week to look at Evos again but they could only offer silly prices for my Impreza. Agree with you re the ride/servicing etc

My ICE is now in and thats it for this year apart maybe from a pink badge .

I think Ill wait until next year and then have a think about the PPP once everone else has tried it and see what the feedback is like. I dont think I could take another insurance hike yet...
