if you bought a STI and 8 weeks later the engine started knocking from the main bearings and you had the options to
1,accept a repair
2,refund of your money you paid

he's in two minds what to do?

would the repair last is the question?gamble

I guess it depends who is doing the repair and what warrenty they give you.

This seems to be a regular thing with a scoob engine.

Question

What did it sound like? Was it a deep low frequency sound, knock knock knock knock knock? Were the beats in timing to the exhaust beat, when engine was hot and cold?

Disregard above post I've just read what it sounds like in the drivetrain thread.
